tipping question

We are wait listed for the early dinner but may not get it. We may decide to not eat dinner in the dinning room but use room service or eat else where. How would we go about getting the tips to our dinning room servers? When we cruise on Princess our tips are done automatically and we didn't have to worry about it.

You can ask at guest services to have the tips taken out automatically from your ship board account. Or you could walk in the restaurant towards the end of dining on the last night and locate your wait staff anf tip them in person. That is when people normally give their gratuity.

WAIT why are you tipping? Do you mean you want to tip the folks who bring room service? If so just tip at the time they deliver your meal. You do not have to tip if you are not eating in the dining room

We would still tip the people in the dining room. We would still eat breakfast and maybe lunch in the dining room. The people would still need to be tipped.

The servers rely on tips which are essentially their salaries. I admire the OP for her commitment to tipping her servers even if she doesn't fully utilize their services. It is the appropriate and ethical thing to do.

We still tip our servers full amount and then some...even if we don't eat in dining room all nights of cruise.
