Tipping question

Hi DIS friends....

I made hand-made thank you cards to put our tips in and suddenly realized I may not be able to do this. Each card has the reccommended tip amount in cash enclosed and I left the envelope unsealed, this way if we get "excellent" service I can add more cash. Can I present the tips in my own cards or do they have to be in Disney's tip envelopes?? I also made 6 cards for the kid's club counselers with $10 Wallmart cards enclosed. I have three boys and figured they could each pick two to give them to, they are all in the club. Am I on track here?? Thanks!!

I'm sure that your own handmade envelopes are not only "OK", but will be very much appreciated by the CMs that receive them! I believe that the cruise lines provide the envelopes because most people don't bring their own, but you can use any envelope that you want.

P.S. I just noticed that you're doing the parks for a week, and a week on the cruise... That really *IS* a dream vacation!! Have a wonderful time!!

We beat them last year - 1 week other Orlando stuff, Western cruise and then 1 week at WDW. For once I was kinda looking forward to comming home from vacation.

I made my own and we presented them to the server and host. Guest services told me we could either put it on the persons account or present it to them i either cash or a printed receipt they would give us. Since we wanted to present it to them we elected to give them cash along with phone cards.

Before our last cruise this past Septemer I printed out the CM Appreciation Cards that someone post a link to....I added our info (names, e-mail address) and printed them out and then put them in the tip envelopes....

Our servers actually came up to us the next morning and said how nice they were and thanked us.

I am so glad to hear all this! I love putting a personal touch on things!! I am sure all the CMs will go above and beyond so they deserve the same from us!!

I can't believe we leave 1 month from today!!!

Just remember, these are extra -- above and beyond your cash tip to the "tipped" positions and about the only way to tip/show appreciation to people in non tipped positions.
