Tipping question

I wonder just how many people don't realise about you only having to tip on the pre-tax amount??.

Agree with you dc1964 about Cattlemans  .x.

anyone know whether you get a bill when you're on the free dining plan?
that is, even if you owe nothign......so that you know how much you ordered so that you can figure out what to tip...

Yes, you will get a bill that shows how much your meal would have cost if you hadn't been using the dining plan.

It comes with one of the many, many slips of paper you'll get with your bill. There will be one showing $0.00 and confimring how many dining credits you used, one showing how much the actual prices were, one to keep as a souvenier...

The latest recommendation is 18%,basic,from the US site this appears to be the minimum, including buffet! We have always tipped accordingly apart from once in a Chinese Restaurant in LBV,where we received pretty poor service. We ended up just leaving a couple of $ on the table & the waitress chased us saying that we hadn't left enough! At this point my sister told her that she was lucky to get anything & if she didn't want it we could take it back!
Going off at a tangent I've read on the US site that WDW House staff aren't supposed to be allowed to accept tips & if caught doing so can be fired! We will probably still leave something as we normally place money in an envelope at the end of our stay.
SD:thumbsup2
