How many of you tip Mousekeeping? I never knew you had to until I came across the DIS...

We do, there are 3 of us so we leave $5/day. Next trip there will probably be 4 of us, so I will increase it to $6/day. We aren't very messy, so there isn't much to do except making the beds and cleaning the bathroom.

We always tip. I used to leave $2 but DH and I get pretty messy as the trip wears on and now I leave $3. Our Mousekeeping this past trip was amazing so it was well deserved. If I see expectations are not being met I might scale the amount back. But be careful because your Mousekeeper might change during your stay.

We treat our WDW stay like any other in a hotel. We tip in a hotel and we tip at Disney resorts.

we also leave $5 per day , I have little ones that can be messy, I try to keep the room in order , but we can produce alot o' trash (especially with 2 out of 3 kids in diapers)

We started doing this about three years ago. We leave $3.00 a day on our stay. If Mousekeeping was exceptionally good during our stay, we leave a little extra on the day we check out.

I will be tipping atleast $50 for eight days. It will be me, my husband, 18yo son and 4 yo daughter. I also keep the room clean and disinfect the room myself.

yes, we always tip mousekeeping...
we leave a tip every day (since there are different mousekeepers on different days)..

$1 per person, each day as their might be a different mousekeeper. I look at it this way, when we stay at the Poly for example, the bellman puts our luggage on the golf cart, drives us to our building, loads it onto a hand truck, takes the elevator to our floor and puts the luggage in the room, approximately 10 minutes work. He gets $10. Our mousekeeper cleans our room every single day usually a minimum of 4 days but often up to 6 or 7, and it takes longer than 10 minutes and is a lot dirtier a job, a couple bucks a day is not a lot. And I never got a towel animal from a belleman. Just my opinion.

Yes, I do. I tip $3 for my husband and I. We really don't mess up the room that bad. I always make sure everything is straightened up, dirty towels are together in a pile, and that the counter is wiped up (my husband is a VERY messy person when he gets ready, water everywhere).

Usually $5.00 daily, more if we are in one of the DVC units.

Good advice from everybody here. But just wanted to mention that you don't "have to" tip mousekeeping. Disney considers it a non-tipped position. And I suspect that the majority of people don't tip.

We do if mousekeeping does something special for us.

Tipping isn't expected in this position, but my parents always left "a little something for the maid" whenever we took trips, so I guess I just got used to it.

I tip because I think they are very hardworking and the job looks exhausting.

We have always tipped anywhere we stayed on the last day. It wasn't until I read these boards that I realized it could be a different person cleaning our room each day. So now we leave between $3-5 a day and $10 on check-out day. I figure the last day the sheets are getting changed, the room is getting a huge cleaning, etc. so we leave more. I have 3 kids but I keep things fairly picked up through out the week. We probably average around $40 a week in housekeeping tips. We used to do about $25 on check-out day and that was it.

I must say I didn't realize people tipped either, I just started tipping mousekeeping a few years ago. We always tip now, I just honestly didn't know people did this.

i tip when i remember to tip. quite honestly, i think tipping is becoming overdone. the cm that takes your order at cs restaurants or cleans your table at those restaurants never gets tipped and makes the same amount as a mousekeeper. the cm selling you popcorn in the steam of the ak, also makes the same amount and we dont tip them. yet the mousekeeper that works in the airconditioning and cleans 10 or so rooms per day pockets an extra 50 or so bucks because she works hard. they all work hard, so why tip mousekeepers and not all the other cms that work hard for us? that being said, i will probably still tip mousekeeping.

We tip usually $5/day....$1 per person per day.

We tip one dollar per person in the room every day. If it is a holidayeg:Valentine's we will bring a special treat and we also bring items unique to Canada for them.....and no we don't bring a bag of polar bear crap!:lmao:

I always tip housekeeping in any hotel I stay in, Disney or otherwise. However, I checked 'Sometimes' for two reasons. Occasionally, I just simply forget in the rush to get out. Oops. And this trip, I stopped tipping after several days of poor service by housekeeping at the Poly.
