For those that tip mousekeeping, do you give them daily tips (maybe different mousekeepers clean the room eavery day - not sure) or do you wait until the end of your stay and tip in one large chunk?

If you tip, what is your average per-day tip?

Just trying to get an idea of a good figure for our trip.

When I tip, I leave it daily because mousekeepers change. Normally, I leave it on one of the pillows on the bed. Some people make up envelopes for each day -- this is a good idea if you want to set aside the $ in advance.

I leave $2/person each day; more if we are especially messy  .

We usually leave $1.00 for each person in the room and we leave it each day in case we end up with different mousekeepers.

Hi there, neighbor! :wave2: Hope you have a wonderful trip to Disney.

I print up envelopes ahead of time and fill it with $1 per person/per day. I fill the envelopes at home so I don't have to be digging around for dollar bills each morning. I just lay the envelope on the pillow. You should always tip daily, the staff changes every day so there is no guarantee you will have the same mousekeeper all week.

I prepare the envelopes in advance and tip daily. I leave the envelope on a desk or dresser.

We also tip $1.00/per person/per day but leave it in an envelope propped against the mirror in the vanity area. I also like to leave a quick note for the Mousekeeper thanking him/her for helping me enjoy the magic by not having to worry about the cleanliness of the room and will personalize it if possible (I may be confusing WDW with other resorts, but I think they leave a card w/his/her name on it in the room after tending to it). My husband thinks I am nuts, but I like to let every CM who we meet that they are doing a great job making WDW our favorite place on Earth!

We also tip $1/day/person, and leave a note. What surprises me is that this has never happened at WDW, but when we were in Satellite Beach, the housekeeper wrote notes back. I thought that was really cool.

Kungaloosh!

At the BC on one trip, we had the best mousekeeper ever, Carmen. She was the Felix Unger of mousekeepers -- you could go back to the room wearing white gloves, slippers and a white body suit and not find a speck of dust or dirt anywhere!

On top of that, she left great surprises each day. One day we came back to find those paper Mickey coasters on the floor leading us to a nice note saying thanks for the tip and hoping we had a magical day. (We always left her a note saying thanks for cleaning up after us, making the beds, etc.)

On our last day, she left us a Mickey note card saying she was sad to see us leave, but hoping we'd come back soon! I hope the next time we can afford BC, we can stay in Carmen's section!!

okay, ya'll are gonna think (okay, KNOW LOL) i'm weird. but i LOVE tipping the mousekeepers. because for a week, they take care of me. and moms usually take care of everyone else! lol

i print up little disney clip art and tape them to envelopes, also make sure to put thank you in english and spanish on there below where it says "For MOusekeeping". I usually leave them on the pillow (for turndown) or in the bathroom sink (for regular cleaning).

I tip at least 2.00 (a minimum of 5 dollars per day if just me and hubby) per person in the room per day. when we went all out last year and splurged on GF concierge, I also left a SECOND tip envelope daily for the turndown mousekeeper. Boy, did we have a lot of extra towels and soaps! LOL :D and once, a towel duckie :)

i figure if i can afford to stay at a world class resort like WDW its only right to tip well. it's great to see so many people who also do so. if you've ever had a family member who was a housekeeper at a hotel (or been one yourself) you know how hard they work. when i'm on vacation, i like to say thank you by planning ahead.

i love the envelopes cause then they're full in advance, no scrounging for singles when we get to the resort LOL

I also print special mousekeeping envelopes and leaves $4/per day (it's me and my DH) and then leave an extra something on our checkout day.

We tip $1.00 per person, per day and leave it out every day, we fill the envelopes before we go and then just put them into the safe so every morning we get one and leave it on the bed.

We print the Mousekeeping envelopes as found on Heidi's site:

One trip we would get little towel animals daily and our mousekeeper even left us a nice little note thanking us and let us know she was off the rest of the week, so we wouldn't be sad if there were no towel animals.

I also always bring magazines to read on the plane, (People and US weekly) so there are usually 2 or so that im done reading, so i always leave those with a little note to take them if they want them, maybe they want something to read on break!;)

I'm a big tipper for mousekeeping too. We leave pre-printed envelopes for them each day on the bed and I usually leave them $4-5 for DH and I.

We are not especially messy or anything but we just seem to come back to a very clean room with extra towels, soaps, etc. and some great towel animals everyday. :)

I tip at the end of the stay, about $2/person per day (rounded up to the nearest $5 if I don't have change) and I always leave a thank you note.

I will change the practice to tipping daily from now on (after reading this thread I realized this would be better).

I leave about a dollar per person per day, and I leave the envelope propped up in the bathroom near the sink.

We'll I only put $2 in my envelope. For every day or When I see my maid I just hand her the money and say, "thank you".
There is 4 in my family. But this is all I can afford. You have to do what is best for you. Maybe some people might think I am cheap, You have do what fits in your budget. Sorry to say, I don't have the extra money to pay $2 a head. So I don't. Do what you feel comfortable with.

You got that right, some people don't tip at all...like I said I do $1.00 for each of us, but there are only 2 of us....I think I would do the same ($2.00) even if there were 3 or 4 cause we don't really get the room that messy, if we did, then I would probably bump it up..lol

I tipped a $1 per day per person/ 2 people on this trip. The first 2 days I made the bed, got new towels and put the old towels outside the door. There really was nothing to do. Everyday I put my towels in a pile outside the door and only had 1 bed to make and one garbage to empty. I started tipping the 2nd day. On the third day I didn't have change and I checked that she would be there the next day so I could make it up the next day. We stayed 6 nights. The day before we were to leave I again didn't have anything smaller than a $20 so I planned on leaving the last tip the day we were leaving. Maybe the mousekeeper was mad because she left no soap, kleenex, shampoo or towel animals that day. The towels were just thrown on the rack and it looked like a hurried job. I found out that she was off the day we were to leave because a different lady came to do the final clean and told me she was off. Really since there was only 2 of us and we slept in the same bed and had no junk anywhere our room was an easy clean. I think if you tip they should appreciate it which I'm sure she did, but if you don't on one day, she should still leave supplies and the room in order. Just my feeling that maybe she felt put out.

Where I work, people sometimes give us gifts for taking care of their infants for weeks/months at a time. Sometimes they don't. When they do it is great. When they don't that is just the way it is. I am doing my job and getting paid for it. I don't send the baby home in any other way than I do when I have gotten a gift.

Just thought I would share what we experienced this week during our WDW stay.

We are leaving very soon, I fixed mousekeeping envelopes with disney pictures on them. Last year we went and I forgot to tip  I don't know what was wrong with me. However we are tiping $3.00 per day and are staying 7 nights.

Last year even though I forgot to tip our mousekeeper was really fun. My daughter had a stuffed dog she took with her. One morning when we came in she had set the dog on the newspaper with a little wet spot and a card that said Oops! the next day we came in and he was watching the tv with the remote sitting beside him.......

I thought these were original gags and sure made us smile.
