Can anyone explain to me how tipping works for the Remy Dessert Experience? Since it's not exactly a sit down dinner but more of a tasting party type deal, are you supposed to tip? If so, how much? Will the customary 15% work fine? I'm a little confused. :confused3

When we did it, it was basically a sit down meal, albeit all of the "meal" was dessert. There were (I think) 6 desserts each of which was served to everyone at the same time with a brief description by the chef. It wasn't like a set of tables with plated desserts out on them that you just pick yourself, unless they've changed it. If it's the same as when we did it, I would treat it as a regular meal.

I did tip extra for the outstanding service. We were 3 people at a round table, and for each dessert course, 3 servers would swirl around our table and set down our 3 plates at the exact same time - beautifully choreographed and must have taken a lot of training.

The one thing we did NOT appreciate was that unlike dinner, the host was talking the entire time during the dessert tasting. Part of it was interesting, but a lot of it was sales pitch for the wine pairings, and IMHO that diminishes the fine dining experience.
