Can someone please tell me what is the proper tipping amount at the hotel? Like for maids and stuff?? I haven't got a clue!

I tipped $1/person/day to the maids and we carried our own luggage, so this is the only tipping we did! Hope this helps!!! You'll LOVE Pop!!! :earsgirl:

I agree with Knoxt. We did $1.00 per person per day, except for one housekeeper that went out of her way to help. We gave her an extra $5.00 on our departure day. It was worth the extra towels, soap and the little goodies she left for the DD's. :rotfl2:

Now, did you tip daily or just at the end of your stay??? In case there are different maids on different days........

Tipping? Is that why my kids never got the neat little arrangements in the windows?

I tipped daily because you will have different housekeepers throughout your stay!

We tipped daily and only received towel animals the 1st day, but usually my DD3 stuffed animals and books, etc. would be arranged in the windows or on the bed and my daughter was always excited about seeing how they would be arranged! Tipping was worth it just to see the look on her face!

I tipped $2 daily. It was just dd and I staying in the room. I think I tipped $4 the last day. We got a towel animal the first day and we got dd's toys arranged in the window or on the bed every day.

I've stayed at 12 different WDW resorts, ALWAYS tip, and have ONCE gotten a towel animal in probably 30 some stays.

There were 4 of us at POP 12/23-1/1. Two of them TEENAGERS! We tipped $5 a day. My parents and brother were in our room at different times and couldn't believe we got as much stuff in our room as we did! We had Christmas gifts and we brought a mini fridge and had tons of snacks. We're really not that messy but we all had a LOT of stuff in that small POP room and I felt bad that "mousekeeping" had to work around all our JUNK! We didn't get any towel animals but we did get a cute "toothbrush holder" one day and always cute arrangements with the kids' stuff. Have a great time!

I must be a cheapskate. It never dawned on me to tip. I guess I've rarely stayed at a hotel long enough for it to make a difference, but I'll certainly do it this year. Five dollars a day isn't much money. If it puts a smile on the housekeeper's face, then It would be worth it.

Yeah, I feel bad because I took DD there last year and we didn't tip (we didn't get any neat animals in our windowsill either!)..... Not an avid traveller, do I just leave it on the table? Will they know it is for them or do I need to leave a note? :confused3

I left the tip in an envelope on one of the pillows. They'll know it's for them. :) I also got a thank you note one day!

If you use luggage assitance you should tip them as well. $1-2 per bag. The bags can get really heavy! In the value resorts the front desk people rotate in luggage assistance too. Let me tell you that a family of four doesn't pack light! So if you use luggage assistance please tip them!

Thanks so much for that link - I had another one but couldn't get the pictures small enough. THis worked perfectly - now my envelopes are ready to go!

We printed out the envelopes and I put $3 ($1 per person, per night) in each envelope before we left home. That way I just had to remember to put one out each morning - no scrambling for correct change. I propped the envelope on the sink against the ice bucket each morning.

We got towel animals the first night and had cute little "scenes" with DS's toys each day after that.

We handled our own luggage.

We liked Pop and we are going back in October! :flower:
