We will be staying at the Poly in concierge for the first time. I know to tip mousekeeping, but what is the "norm" of tipping concierge? When would it be appropriate to give them tips? Every day? Every time we go to the lounge? I really have no clue, and I want to make sure I do this right.

Also, about how much should we tip the bellman?

Thanks!

I did not tip the concierge staff.. but I did take them a big box of chocolates (25.00USD worth) and left it at their desk... they were really happy about it.

I did however tip our housekeeper.. she did a fabulous job.

I tip the housekeeper daily, $5 in the morning and $2 for turndown in the evening. There are generally 2-3 of us in the room, and we are very neat.

At the end of our stay I give the concierge staff a box of Godivas and a handwritten note, which always seem appreciated.

I tried to tip AKL Concierge with cash, but they are not allowed to accept cash tips. The box of chocolates idea is a great one.

Thanks everyone! I didn't know they weren't allowed to accept cash, so this makes things easier. I'll get them something like chocolates too. :)

Your little Princess is just too CUTE!

I never thought of tipping them. Gosh, now I feel so cheap. We always tipped the housekeeper. I am already impressed with the Poly concierge again. Tara has been a great help to me and has always responded quickly. I guess I better pack something before we leave.

I have done the chocolates also, one time after we got home, I had real nice chocolates sent to the concierge staff and then a separate box to the itinerary planner.

Last trip, I sent cookies from "cookies by Design" to the itinerary planner.

Laura :)

Princess Angel, that's a great idea. I love cookies by design.

>>^..^<<, Here is the link to cookies by design. A family member sent a cookie bouquet to us when our daughter was born and it was so pretty and unique. We've sent a couple to people since then.
