Tipping Concierge?

I think the whole point of concierge is getting "that little bit extra" for an added cost.
Therefore I think any tipping in this situation would not be required.

I disagree wee-haggis, I don't think 'tipping' should generally be overuled by the price. Concierge levels are set up for people who demand & expect more fromt the hotel & staff. They pay for it true, but it doesn't supercede tipping a helpful employee (again, most concierge level guests aren't sweating the dollars & cents).

That beng said though, I don't believe Disney CM's are allowed to accept gratuities on a generalized basis. I tried to tip once (at concierge) and was politfully rebuffed...

Hi luvnwdwgal! I posted about this very subject awhile back. I haven't been to Disney, yet. However, I have been in contact with the concierge staff at AKL. And, so far, they have really gone out of their way to make my vacation feel special. So, I posted to the Disboards to find out if concierge staff was allowed to accept tips. I received myriad helpful comments, so I'll pass them on to you:

-Most Disers agreed that tipping the concierge is optional, and the concierge staff do not expect it.
-In fact, many people reported that the Disney concierge CMs are not allowed to accept tips.
-A few Disers said that they will leave the concierge CMs a nice box of chocolates to share or some other small token of appreciation for a job well done.
-One Diser told me that the concierge has to refuse a monetary tip 3 times. The fourth time that "you insist," they will accept the tip.

I hope that this helps a bit! :)
