Because we charge everything in order to accrue frequent flier miles, on our last DCL cruise we tipped by charging it to our account. We leave again on Saturday :) and I was just thinking ... is it more advantageous for the servers if we tip them in cash (for tax purposes)?

Any thoughts or info. on this? As a side question - I have read about giving small gifts such as phone cards and specia WDW pins. Any other ideas as to useful gift items for exceptional cast members?

An interesting question. I've never thought about that. I'm guessing that since DCL is not subject to U.S. labor laws, the CM's wouldn't be required to pay U.S. income taxes except for the handful of CM's that are actually U.S. citizens. So it's probably a moot issue. Go ahead and rack up those frequent flier miles.
