Please help.

We are staying at POP September 15-21st. I am so confused about the tipping. We are using DME, but getting at the resort around 11 pm. Our first night reservation is separate from our WDW Travel Reservation. My plan was to ask the Front Desk to hold our bags, then when (if) we switch rooms the next day, ask DME to deliver our bags to our new room. I know we don't tip DME (right?), but would we tip in that scenario? If so, how much?

Don't tip the DME driver. If you do have the front desk hold your luggage in case of a room change, tip whomever eventually brings them to your room. I realize you might not be there when it happens, leave a tip in your room in a visible spot, clearly marked for the luggage guy.

1) The "luggage guys" at Value resorts are not bellmen.
2) They are Luggage Assist.
3) In other words, they are classified as Front Desk CM's.
4) They are in non-tipped positions.
5) By contract, they are paid on a per-room basis for DME luggage delivery.

Are we suppose to tip the person who delivers our luggage from DME to our room at the CSR? I think our luggage will probably arrive about 8 p.m.

i donnt tip anyone at disney,,they get enough $$$$out of you ,,,never tip house keeping you donnt get the same person all the time..so i donnt bother at all

Gee, canron, that's very decent and considerate of you. I mean, you're welcome to choose who to and not to tip, but do you really think it's fair to the people who haul your luggage around, or who clean up the mess you leave in your room every morning, to advise OTHER Guests not to tip?

Any time that I go (13 days!!!!) I will always thow the staff a couple of bucks. The norm is usually 2.00 per bag. Some ppl only do 1.00 per bag. That's up to you.

I do know that the workers in these positions at DW don't get paid very well. I had a friend that worked there on a work visa from England. When she told me the pay scale I almost choked!

So yes do tip them!!! Especially the very friendly CM's they deserve it the most for making your trip a Magical one!!!

Hope this helps! :grouphug:

they get paid for that and we use 1 bed and thats it,,we donnt even eat in our room we eat off grounds,,,i do leave water or pop left over or a few beers but thats it..

One bed (that you make up yourself every day?), no towels, no paper products, nothing dropped on the floor, no dirt tracked in, no hairs in the tub, no hairs or toothpaste in or around the sinks, no furniture moved around to make the room more comfortable for yourselves, tv not angled or pulled out on its platform, bible and phone books untouched, ditto for the pens, pad of paper and any stationary in the room...? Yeah, then, I guess you don't need to tip.

As I said, you're welcome to make your own decisions about tipping - but it's unreasonable to advise others not to tip, simply because you don't think it's necessary - and that's what you did in post # 5. By the way, you DO get the same housekeeper every day, except on her/his day off.

I hate that I am even gonna jump in on this one but.... does their employer (WDW) not pay them to actually clean the room? I wish it was broke down for me, like with your room at $204.00 per night, we include the following .. bed made, new towels, garbage emptied. If you want extra service, like the bible replaced to its exact position, the piece of paper you dropped picked up, you will need to leave a tip of $$$.

There are so many things that I just don't agree with, yes I have left tips for various people, but the thing is, I don't do it because I want to, I do it because I feel judged by not.

For the record, I also speed occasionaly, double dip a chip here and there, and I am horrified to admit this, but one time, I passed gas in public and my 3 yr old son yelled it out to the whole world. But my money is just as green as everyone elses! And I won't be condemned for being a busy body and telling everyone else what rules they must follow!!! I think I will let them decide!

Well AC7179. Just make it your choice on to tip or not.

Just trying to be helpful. Everyone has their own opinions.

To me it always depends on the service. If they jump to my car (when I drive up) and immediately help me. If they are good about doing their job fully including a cheerful smile and nice attitude I typically tip. They remember you when you tip and if they see you again they will treat you nicer.

I wish Disney paid their staff better than they do considering what they do get money wise coming in. However they do not so I treat Disney staff the way I treat any other hotel or food staff.

We tip the mousekeeper daily, this way no matter who cleans our room they get their tip. The luggage handlers we tip at the end of our trip because we are never in our room when our bags get delivered. Enjoy your trip!!!!!!
