Tipping at buffets

How much is appropriate to tip at the buffet restaurants? Do you leave a percentage based on the total, or just a certain amount?

The first post explains why there is just one thread, lists the thread guidelines, and even has a FAQ that answers the most common tipping questions. (If memory serves me right, your question is addressed under #5. )
