Few questions about tipping while staying concierge.

Firstly, will we receive tip envelopes at the end for the concierge team?

Secondly, for the cocktails in the lounge are you able to and/or expected to tip the team? If so I would imagine it’s cash only because they aren’t charging you for the drinks.

Thanks in advance!

They now provide an enveloppe for the Concierge team. It wasn't the case a few years ago. If it's not in your room with the other enveloppes, they are made available at the concierge desk in the lounge. Know that the Concierge team pools tips, so there is no need to direct the tips to a specific person.

If you use the open bar service, you should tip the bartender. Most guests also tip the food host, the person in charge of replenishing the food items throughout the day. You can always get a printed ticket for any cast member allowed to receive tips, or you can give them cash. We do not tip every time we get a drink but at the end of the cruise. We check at the start of the cruise if the lounge team will remain the same throughout the cruise.

We tip 200 to each host. 100 to buffet worker and 100 to bartender on top of the 20 each night. We have always had the experience that the after the first night once we walk in the lounge he has our drinks ready and waiting for us. The service is just amazing all around.

Concierge tipping is like the great mystery of DCL. All the other onboard positions get some default amount to work off of but concierge doesn't. I've spent a lot of time Googling this and it's so all over the place. A few important points:

1) You can include tip for the concierge hosts (the three main people) as one pooled amount on your bill like the tips for the servers and room host, or use the provided envelope
2) You can also include a separate tip on your bill for the concierge bartender (or give them cash directly)
3) You cannot include tips for other people working in the concierge lounge serving food etc on your bill as these are "ungraduated" positions (this is what the host told me) so if you want to tip them, you have to give them cash (they do not receive anything from the amount you include as a 'concierge' tip on your bill or in the concierge envelope you give to the host).

The amount we've given has varied a lot based on how much we connected with the team and whether or not we could remember what we did prior :-P We always tip on the last day though, not day by day (including the bartender).
