We just got back from our July trip. I got us a fast pass for Everest, but it was for much later than we wanted. We instead stood in the single rider line. We waited 12 minutes. Although it was a little difficult to find the line, I did ask the CM at the fast pass line.

The person I rode with waited 6 minutes the day before. The person "in charge" of the line would also let some riders ride together (usually small age kids). It sure beat waiting in the LONG line! We gave our three passes to a dad with two kids from England.

A friend of mine who just returned from WDW recommended the single rider line whenever possible - she and her family never waited more than 5 minutes for anything, and even ended up riding together in some cases!

I suggest the single-rider line for almost any ride that offers it. If you go into the line with your friends/family, you could end up in the same car sometimes.

I use it all the time for Test Track, and the wait it usually 5-10 minutes.

my family always rides a ride once together and if we want to do it again we use the single line.

we're older now so once we do a ride as a whole family we now do single riders. best time saver in the world! i haven't riden with my family on test track in about 4 years now. my mom jokes that we are adopted family members since we appear in the photos that most families purhcase.

We were at AK on Friday. The single rider line was 35 minutes long. Standby was 75 min. This was around 11am. We had gotten FPs around 9am for a 10:20-11:20 block. The FP line wound all along the pathway, while the standby line was contained within the normal queue. It was extremely congested; Disney really needs to fix it because getting in and out of that area is a nightmare.

So this made me think of a new question. Actually two. Both of my children are too young for this ride, so can you do the baby switch from the single rider line? Second question, what if we got in the single rider line with our children, would they let each child sit with one parent? I don't know if we'll have to worry as much about these lines in early October as you do in the summer, but it's always good to be prepared.

Thanks for that. We're going next year in July and it's likely we'll be doing single rider anyway. But on the off chance we may well do that anyway.

Lxx

Went in July and No you can not do the baby swap from the single rider line at least thats how it was at Test Track. I went in the single rider line then Dh went with the swap pass in the fast pass line. We even asked the CM if we could just all go in and then swap but they said no. I think it probably has to do with where the train/car dropps you off at the end. On EE it does it before it gets to the lines.

I did see them let small children ride together or with a parent, you have to be prepared for this not to happen. The single rider line is ment to fill in gaps. I would get a fastpass instead. I am not sure about the baby swap thing.

Last week were at WDW. We arrived at the park soon after they opened and went straight to Everest. We got a fast pass and then got in line. It was about 15-20 minutes. We went back later with our fast passes and waited about 10 minutes. The ride was worth it. I had my camera up in the air taking pics the whole time.

Good advice :thumbsup2 . Also, if you get there at opening, grab your fast pass and ride it a few times. The line didn't get really long until about an hour after opening. We rode 3 time without fast pass. Longest wait was 20 minutes (not bad for late June). By the time fast pass time came, the line was about 50 minutes. We rode 4 times that morning. If Everest is one of your favorites, definitely make it your first stop.

I wonder if that would annoy the people riding right behind you, as some of their view of the ride would be of your arm and camera... Hope you didn't use flash!
