We're taking a quick, inexpensive trip to Disney and staying at the Hampton Inn, Lake Buena Vista. My teenager may want to sleep in and catch up with us in the parks which he's done many times when we've stayed in Disney resorts.

We've never used an offsite hotel bus and I wonder if there's anything we should know. I read somewhere that the bus drivers seem to expect a tip. If that's true how much should he tip?

TIA.

The bus drivers "expect" a tip..... that does not mean you have to give them one. They are getting paid to drive these buses. The motels/hotels tell you this is a free service for you staying in their motel. DH and I only did this one time, as the times are never quite what you anticipated, because they stop at several motels. They usually only have a few times to go or come back. The time we went you had to go out and stand out in the middle of the bus parking lot - where there were no benches - and wait for a bus with your number on it. Well, that bus did not come back - but another bus took us back to our motel. From then on, we used our car. Lesson learned. :sad2:

Sounds horrid. I'll try to encourage my son to get up with the rest of us, though that's really tough to do.

We tipped last year at Disneyland. You could tell it really made the dreiver's whole day. Yes, they are getting paid, but everyone could use a little extra now and then. We just try to treat them and others like we would want to be treated. They were all very friendly and tried to help with anything they could. And it does make you feel good to be able to do something for someone else, even if it's small.

Thanks for all your replies. If I can't drag my son out of bed I'll just give him a few dollars to tip.

Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli: It's not tipping I believe in. It's overtipping. :)
