I've never had anything delivered to a resort before. We placed a small order of beer and wine to be dropped off at bell services at POR. We will be able to pick it up at checkin. Do you normally tip for this, since they accepted and held your packages?

If you are picking it up, why would you tip someone? Just because they handed it to you :confused3? If they brought it to the room I would tip, but I don't see why you would otherwise.

I would either way!
Even if you pick it up - they have to receive it from the delivery company and store it for you (usually in a fridge for cold/perishables) and then retreive it.

If you drop your bags off with bell services on your departure day, and then pick them up when you hop on ME, would you tip them? I'd give them a little something, but some people don't.

It can't hurt! I think most people would appreciate getting a tip

It is customary to tip at bellstands. If you're an adult.

thank for sharing!!! I always tip any bell services for holding luggage, so that why I thought we shoud for this. $5 seems fair. thanks, again!

I not only tip them when I drop off, I tip them again when I pick up. I basically take the $1 a bag concept and split it in half....if someone is holding my valuables for me, you can be darn sure I'm going to tip them.

Interesting.

I only have Bell Services hold my luggage if I get to the hotel and my room isn't ready. I guess I assumed the hotel had to provide the service because they can't promise the room will be ready when I get there. So it never dawned on me to tip the Bell Services people for the act of holding and/or receiving my stuff. I've always tipped them for the act of schlepping my stuff up to my room when the room is ready, and schlepping it back down when I'm leaving the hotel.

Just back from POFQ last month. We shipped two boxes ahead of time. When we arrived a girl delivered them to our room and when I gave her a tip she refused. So, no, I guess a tip is not needed.
