Wednesday 2nd August
For some reason I woke at 5am today and couldnt get back to sleep so I resized some of our pictures and uploaded them ready for the trip reports. DD was next up at 7am followed by her brother half an hour later. DH didnt surface until half eight so by the time he had breakfast we didnt leave until just after 9.
We parked in the MK at about quarter past and walked from the TTC to the Monorail. We had just missed one a Monorail so we asked if we could sit with the driver on the next one. We had a really chatty driver (Steven) and it turns out that he had visited our hometown in Ireland.
We got into the park after a quick bag search and first stop was the main street barbers for DD to get a hair cut. While we were there Noah - the Main Street historian popped in and entertained us.
DD was pleased with her hair cut and had some sprinkles put on afterwards.
From the Barbers it was our usual first visit tradition of Tomorrow Land and we started with Stitch followed by Buzz where DS scored a respectable 433,300 (helped by me
) As we left Buzz we saw Stitch so all stopped for a hug - Including DH
Next stop was The Carousel of Progress - all together now - Its a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day . Then the kids and DH went off to Space Mountain while I made my way to Cosmic Rays. When they had finished on Space they met me at Cosmics and it was a couple of orders of Chicken strips, a hotdog and a cheese burger. DD said she had a bad headache and we were thinking of leaving the park but she said she felt better after something to eat.
The kids wanted to do the Tea Cups and it was a walk on. I noticed that the park didnt seem to be that busy and it wasnt wall to wall people as there usually is, quite a few of the rides were a walk on. We left the Tea Cups and went on Winnie the Pooh, followed by Snow Whites Scary Adventure (not) and then Cinderellas Carousel. From there it was on to Philharmagic which was another walk on and is still our favorite show.
Next up was Haunted Mansion, which for the first time ever didnt stop while we were on it. As we left HM we stopped for an Ice-cream and I declined one as I had a cunning plan for later. We made our way towards Splash and Big Thunder and I told the lads Id wait for them on the bridge by Splash. As soon as they were out of site I headed off to get a Dole Whip which was pure heaven:
It was almost time for the parade to start so I grabbed a spot. The lads made it back just in time and I have to say that this parade much shorter than last year we really noticed the absence of the Snowglobes and were very disappointed. They have taken out all the snowglobes but not replaced them with anything else and it seemed to be over really quickly. We were all hot and tired and planning to leave the park but as we walked past the Magic Carpets it was another walk on so I went on with DS and DD.
DD was desperate to ride Pirates so she went on with DH. DS and I had a coke while we were waiting and all of a sudden there was a 20 minute show by Captain Jack himself and one of his pirates.
It was very good and this Captain Jack was very like Johnny Depp and well worth seeing. DD got back just at the end and was upset that she had missed it. She wants to make sure she sees it and is in it next time we are in MK.
We finally left the park just after 5 and as we were all hot and tired we went to Golden Corral (again) Dinner took about an hour and we were back at the villa and the kids were in the pool just after 6. They stayed there for a couple of hours before watching a bit of TV and then going to bed.
Tomorrow - chilling by the pool and a movie.
