DH, Myself, DD (6) and DS (5)
Met our friends again at AK for our PS at Donalds Breakfastosaurus. How excited we were when we found out we had the dining car!! For those of you who dont know, there is a silver Winebago attached to the front of the restaurant. It has 2 U-booths and it accomodated our party of 13 very well. We had the 7 kids sit on one side and the adults on the other. When the characters came around, the kids all assaulted the character and we laughed and took photos before the poor creature escaped from the dining car. The buffet style breakfast really worked for us here, the kids loved picking out their own food and walking back to "our" section of the restaurant. It was alot of fun.
We then rode on Dinosaur, yes, even me. It was a rough ride but I enjoyed it and we bought the photo. When I saw it I almost lost it. One of the boys in our photo has his mouth open in sheer terror and so does my DH!! Had to buy that! I got great photos of our family and friends on Kali Rapids from the bridge near the exit, saw Its Tough to be a Bug, the Festival of the Lion King and then let the kids play in the boneyard for about 45 minutes.
We then went back to the WL to get dressed for dinner at Jiko! We dropped the kids off at Simbas and we waited to be seated. We bumped into our friends, (they were staying at AKL) who were waiting to be called into Boma.
For those of you who love Jiko, I cannot see how. It was terrible. I mostly speak of the service. We had the silver package. We have used this in the past and had an excellent experience. Jiko has no "specials" for those on the silver plan. I believe everywhere else does. I ordered the filet with macaroni and cheese. I did not want macaroni and cheese with my filet so I asked the server if I could substitute and she said "NO". She forgot to bring our bread, and we never did get that. I spoke to the manager 3 times during our visit there. He did NOTHING to make me happy. We left unhappy with the food and the service, we will not return.
We met our friends at the poolside bar at AKL and compared notes, they LOVED BOMA, especially the soups, I should have eaten there. We left to pick the kids up.
This kids loved Simbas especially the Star Wars games. The made masks while there and both enjoyed cookies and milk in addition to their meals.
Back at the WL we picked up snacks at Roaring Forks and headed to our room, we fell asleep immediately after eating our snacks, whew, WDW is tiring!!
