Tinkerbell movie?

Does anyone know about the Tinkerbell movie coming out in 2007? I wasn't sure if it was coming to theatres or straight to DVD. My 7 year old is obsessed with all of the Disney Fairies stuff and we are getting her the little figures and the Pixie Hollow Home tree as well as the books for Christmas!! (I can't wait to play with all of it, too) I wondered if Disneyland would be doing any promo stuff for the Tink movie (1 of 4, I hear) -- we are planning a trip to DL next year, but not sure on dates yet. It would be extra special if they will promo the Disney fairies merchandise. Just wondering if anyone had any info.

I am SURE they are going to promote the heck out of this - that is what Disney does best! There doesn't seem to be a release date listed, but the little v does mean it is going straight to DVD. I can't wait to see it. I don't think you will miss the on-sale, as I am sure it will be promoted nonstop on tv commercials for 2 weeks prior!

"Tinker Bell is a direct-to-video Disney animated film based on the Disney Fairies franchise, scheduled for release around August 21, 2007. The film revolves around the titular character Tinker Bell, a fairy character originated from the 1953 Disney animated film, Peter Pan. Although the character has never spoken anything before (save for an audio tour of Disneyland created around the time the park was opened), actress/singer Brittany Murphy will be providing the voice for the fairy in this film. It is speculated this will be the last direct-to-video film released by Disney due to its new production deal with Pixar Animation Studios."
