My cousin was Tinkerbell for a few years...she told me that on days that it rained, even if it stopped prior to the show, the line would be wet and the handbrakes would not work well. Therefore, Disney always gave her the option of not flying. On one occasion that it rained and stopped just prior to her flight...she decided to fly because her parents were watching. Well, she flew so fast down the zip line that not even two guys that wait on a roof top in tomorrowland where she lands could stop her. The usually catch her in a blanket too slow her down....but she was going so fast, that they couldn't keep up with her and she hit a padded wall. She was OK, but it makes for a funny story that she now tells her children. It was a good job too...she was able to park (underground) near the castle, she would walk to the top, fly, and they would drive her back to her car and pay her $100 per flight. There were two tinkerbells that they took turns every night. She was in her early 20's at the time...she is only about 5ft tall. Her husband also worked for Disney in contruction. So I guess they were a Disney Family.
