What is everyone leaving from Tinkerbell for the kids? I did this last time and my little 3 yr old had a ball.. now that she is 4.. she says.. I wonder if Tinkerbell will come back and visit me and leave me something when I am sleeping or away at the parks.. so yes.. we have started something....

Does anyone else do this?

I started doing this in 2003. Now that I've started it the kids expect and wait for it! What was I thinking?

Tinkerbelle loves shopping at the Disney store and the Dollar Tree. It runs the gamet from t-shirts, bathing suits, bech towels, to the little fans, disney markers or crayons, light up sticks etc. I'm starting to worry that I'm eventually going to run out of things to buy. Some things I just wait to buy till we're there - like DIsney lollipops and candy bars.

Hi I am new to this board....

I have never heard of Tinkerbell gifts. When are they given? Before or after the trip? This is something I definately want to do.

Thanks
Kim

you can do them whenever you want to really.. its like Santa Clause in a way... just tiny gifts from Tinkerbell

Like we are going in May and I plan on getting a princess small bag, princess markers, princess fruit snacks.. etc.. just neat little surprises! When the kids are only 4... you can do this instead of paying high prices at the parks!

I have already started collecting things for our next trip. Disney Store is a great resource! They often have great sales on the little trinkety stuff. I was there yesterday and they have character plastic eggs filled with prizes for .99! For past trips I have bought Mickey gummies at the grocery store, Disney Pez dispensers at the $ store, glow spiners/watches/fake cell phones from Disney store. The last time we went, I had collected all of the Disney McDonalds toys.

This is a fun tradition, the only problems are that as we have more children, it gets $$ and when other of my ds friends come home from their trips my ds always asks what Tink brought... not all of our friends mommys and daddys believe...in Tink. :sad2:

I went to the Disney Store today and bought a few tinkerbell things for my DS for our June trip. I tend to pick things up months in advance so I am ready to go when the trip arrives! I also bought the eggs filled with stickers, backpack clip, small flashlight, t-shirts (bought a matching one for me, too!), lego stitch toy, and a few toher odds and ends. I also have a power rangers camera for him, sunglasses, sun screen, stickers and I went to Walgreens and picked up the Disney notebooks from the $ bins.

:welcome:
We always have "Welcome Gifts" waiting for them when we check in. Setting it up has gotten trickier as they
have gotten older, but we still manage!

Our girls are now 13, 11 and 7 and are always excited about
their gifts and notes from the characters. We always print out some awesome Certificate Type Welcome
Signs for them with bright beautiful pictures and display them with their gifts.

At check in dh explores the resort with them while I do the paperwork, check in stuff, etc., and then I sneak
into the room and set the gifts up. We've been doing it since our first trip with them when our oldest was less
than 2 years old. Every year the gifts vary and sometimes we go three times a year, but somehow we manage to
find new things/themes for our visits! They always talk about their welcome gifts and are surprised when they hear
that others do not have these gifts left for them! LOL This year will be kind of difficult since we are off property for
the first time ever! Not sure how we will do it, but I am sure we will manage. After all, we can't disappoint
them, they really do look forward to it and I enjoy shopping for these things too! The certificates are a ton of fun
to make too! Every time I make them I go with a new twist. My oldest dd has taken on my love of villains and I
make hers a bit 'evil', and she loves it! LOL

Thanks for all the ideas! I have sweatshirts I have been saving for DS and DD from the Disney Store. I am going to leave them the night before we leave with notes.

Now I am even more excited...68 days and counting!

We are doing little things for each day - silly putty, coloring books, a magnadoodle, doorknob hangers, etc. I got the stuff at either Michael's crafts or Walmart. And I wrapped it in wrapping paper we have never used before - and used it all up and destroyed the evidence! My last gift was for our first morning waking up at Disney - our one surprise is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique hair and nails package. So I bought DD an Aurora dress for the day and DS 2 stuffed animals, Bear in the Big Blue House and Sorcerer Mickey. Well, those were the only ones not wrapped and DD found them in a closet she never goes into playing hide and seek with my mom! At least she doesn't know about the hair appt!

I guess we all got the 99 cent eggs at the Disney store!

I leave ours out at night (I bring Disney gift bags from the Dollar store). It makes it a whole lot easier to get the kids out of bed early if they are waiting to see what Tinkerbelle left! I also leave t-shirts and Disney themed pajamas etc.

we leave ours out at night too.. its so easy to get her up this way!!!! Much easier! Even when she is so tired she says.. did she come and see me?? I also sprinkle some easy to clean up confettie that sparkles or shines... I always clean it up before we leave the room.. actually she does.. she want to keep it ofcourse.. its pixie dust! I love this age! She is 4!

I would always go back to the room after leaving for the parks at night. You know Mom...always forgetting something. Luckily my kids would never remember their things, so I was going back to get their things. :thumbsup2

When we would come home from the park, I would hear, "More Disney Magic!!!"

I absolutely love this idea!!! I can't wait to start planning what treats tinkerbell will bring my little DS's. Thanks so much DISers!!! :tink: :tink:

WE HAVE OVER A YEAR TO GO ON OUR TRIP BUT I LOVE THIS IDEA DD3 WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Thank you all for sharing such a wonderful idea. My dh thinks I'm crazy enough with all of this, so wait until he hears about this!! I've got 6 months to plan my Tinker Belle surprises!!! Thanks for allowing me to become even more obsessed :goodvibes

I started this last year for the first time. I went to the dollar store and purchased small solid gift bags (slightly bigger than the gift card size). I have 2 kids DS7 and DD3. I let them each pick out one pkg of stickers but didn't tell them what the bags & stickers were for. When we got on the plane to Disney, I pulled them out and told them they are Tinkerbell bags for us to decorate. They could decorate them any way they felt would catch Tinks attention as she flew over our hotel to go home, so she'd stop and leave 'treats' for them while they slept.:tink: They got so excited and spent almost an hour decorating the bags! :)

I picked smaller bags so Tink would only have to leave small gifts that would fit in the bags (and save me some cash! ;) ) It was everything from pins to candy and goodies. The last day they got a lot more and it was sitting around the bag the last morning they woke up.

We went this year in Feb, and I completely FORGOT about the Tinkerbell bags!! It was a day after we got home when my son says "Mom, we didn't make our Tinkerbell bags!" I was crushed. :sad1:

I am planning on having gifts from Tink every night at dinner. Inevitabley my dd2 always finishes her dinner before me. Go figure since the first several minutes of my meal is spent getting hers ready to eat.

I thought having little gifts like a Disney Magna Doodle, silly putty, new coloring books, etc...would enable me to finish my meal while she enjoys her new treasures.

Our gifts come from different characters each day and I leave them at night so she gets them in the morning. It does help get her up but she also wants to play with everything so it slows us down. Tink leaves something every trip but we have also had visits from Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Stitch, Pooh. They have left clothes, glow sticks, lip gloss, gummies, fans, stuffed animials, disney dollars, necklaces, bubbles, stickers, tiara, pens and autograph books, snacks. For halloween they left treat bags.
