Given that the Disney castmembers are the lynch pin upon which the Disney world spins, I think they need to find a way to do right by these people. These people do the hardest work and they should not have common benefits taken away or reduced. Most Disney "mousekeepers" do some of the hardest work out there. Imagine cleaning up after us day in and day out.

However, it would probably be better if they met at the table rather than protesting. More would probably get accomplished.

Disney trying to cut benefits/hours for their workers...hmmmmm

just another case of the bottom line becoming so important.....forget the workers, forget the guests...

happy employees = great service = great guest experience = repeat visitors...what about this does Disney not get??!!

I have to find the link to the discussion on the Disneyland thread (maybe one of you have it handy) - someone posted a few more facts about this situation. When you Google for more info, it seems like you only get the same version of the Associated Press story - not a variety of perspective or a deeper investigation into the issues.

Per the "local" posters on the other thread (and an older Orange County or LA Times story that I can't seem to find now) indicate there is more to this ugly case than we are led to believe. There are apparently some things that the labor leader has been doing from the start, that are also causing issues - such as refusing to even join them at the table for negotiations several times. I don't have all of the facts, but the posters indicated that the problems here are not just on Disney's side of the court.

Just thought I would try to see if I could find more perspective on this. I just wish the union could try to find some less offensive tactics to help their cause, since I am having a difficult time being sympathetic to some of them with the whole costume thing and the 6am protests to wake up tourists.
