Thursday, we had decided to go to Typhoon Lagoon and after cereals in the room, the kids and I headed out for the bus. DH already had T-times set for the rest of the trip.

We arrived at TL about 10:30am, bought our tickets at the gate and headed in to get our locker rental. We walked around and found some empty chairs to leave our towels and I headed for Castaway Creek, while the kids went to the big wave pool. I floated around a couple of times and then went to locate the kids for the Gang Plank Falls family raft ride. I discovered that they had already done the Shark Reef twice and I decided that the 2 previous times I had done it last summer, was enough freezing water for me! Dan and I did go over to watch from the underwater viewing area, though. From the raft ride we did Mayday and Keelhaul Falls and the Storm Slides. Tim was the only one to go on Humunga Kowabunga, which he did only once. Apparently, he uncrossed his feet and looked very pained when he stood up at the end! Somewhere, in all that fun, we fit in lunch at Leaning Palms. Before we left, Tim and I floated around the Creek a couple of more times, while Dan relaxed back at the chairs.

It looked like quite a thunderhead was building in the sky in the distance, so we decided to go back to the room. I had laundry to do, so Dan and Tim plunked themselves down in the food court, reading and listening to their CDs, while I went back and forth between the big screen TV in the food court and the laundry room at the big pool.

Later the kids went for their dinners at the food court, while I waited for DH to return from golfing and went with him. We had our usual coffee and pastry before heading back to the room to watch TV with the kids before turning in for an early night. I had been debating about doing E-ticket night the next day and after talking it over with the kids, we decided to do it, so we needed a good night’s sleep. We would go to Magic Kingdom in the morning and see what it was like on a “day after early entry” day.

Sounds like a good day...well except for the laundry part. ;) Isnt it nice to have kids who can do things on their own!

I'm enjoying your trip reports and agree that it is so nice to have kids who can be on their own a bit. Last year was the first time my boys (then13, 15) went off together with out me and I had a very relaxiing couple hours alone at the pool with my book. Keep writing!!!!

Sounds like an relazing day for all. Thanks for posting!

Your trips sound alot like mine. My DD and I go to the parks and DH goes golfing.

chrajeco, I'm glad to read that I'm not alone! I can't understand how anyone could be so addicted to a litte white ball!

This was such a great trip for me regarding the kids. I think they had a better time too, being able to come and go on their own and of course, to have spending privileges on top of that! It was so nice to feel that they would be okay, too. They are 14 and almost 17 so I guess it was about time to allow them some freedom. There's not many places where you can do this though.
