We will be in Santa Monica for a couple of days before going to the GC. How long of a drive is it? We will be trying to negotiate it early on a Monday morning (8:00 -9:00 or so). I am from Houston, so I definitely understand the concept of rush hour. We thought we might be going against the flow of traffic, but we are not sure.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Best way....

Take the 405 (San Diego) south to the 105 east. The 105 ends at 605 - go south & next exit should be 91. Go East on 91 & stay in the diamond lane (for 2 or more people), and connect on the 5 (Santa Ana) fwy going south. Stay in the diamond lane & get off on Disneyland Drive.

405-S
105-E
605-S
91-E
5-S

Easy. :p

How long the ride will take really depends on which route you choose to take. The most direct route is taking the 10 East (Santa Monica Fwy) to the 5 South (Santa Ana Fwy). However, from about 8 to 9:30 traffic can be bad heading toward and through downtown LA for about 10-15 miles or more, your drive could easily be 1 1/2 hours or more. If you wait until 9:30 traffic should be too bad and it should take about an hour.

If you want to leave early, here's an alternate that should take an hour or less. I recommend that you look at a map to check this out before you try it. This route may take you a little further out of the way but it I think it will be quicker (I drive this way a lot). 10 East to 405 South (San Diego Fwy), 110 North, go immediately (your next exit)to 91 East, to the 5 south, to your Disneyland exit.

Good luck and have fun!:D
