Timing PPO breakfast and Jedi Training sign-ups

I'm making my ADRs this week for next April. My boys have their hearts set on Jedi training at Hollywood Studios, and also want to do a character meal at H&V, so I'm looking to get a PPO breakfast because I saw that makes it easier to sign up for Jedi training.

What time should I aim for? Is earlier better? Will sign-ups definitely be open, or if we're not done by 9 will my husband have to take the kids to go sign up while I hold our table? (Can they do that even?) What time do they let you in the park?

I know it's not strictly necessary to do a PPO breakfast to get the training, but where they're set on it and one of them has mobility challenges we definitely can't run at rope drop to get there, I just figured this would be the easiest way.

Thanks!

Shoot for a time before 8:30 (assuming 9 am opening). You will be let into the park early (at 8 or earlier), and will then go sign up for Jedi training before breakfast. Then you can eat breakfast and finish before 9, so you can still RD some rides (or go to training if you signed up for the first show). This strategy worked well for us this past June ... and eased my mind quite a bit knowing I'd be able to get the gkids signed up without stress.

Also note that you may get seated earlier than your reservation time if you (and everyone in your party) is there early.
