Our last day, a weekday in the first week of June, we want to end our trip with the water pageant. I have autistic twins who do not wait well so I want to time it so we go strait from Ohana to the pageant. I have never been to Ohana so I'm not sure how long the meal takes or how far it is from a good veiw of the water pageant. Can some on lend a hand so I can figure when I want my adr?

Thanks

You can find the time for the pageant on Allears.net, but my guess is that it'll be at 9:00 pm or so at the Poly.

In terms of 'Ohana, I'm sorry to say that it's going to be really tough to help you time it so that you'd be finishing up with a minimal wait time for the show. I'd say that eating would take about 60-75 minutes, but the big problem is with the wait time to be seated. As it gets later in the evening, waits can get up to 45 minutes or so past one's ADR time. So you can try to plan your ADR for about 90 minutes before the start of the pageant, but there is a good chance you'll be seated late. You can plan your ADR for about two hours before the show to give yourself some time in case you're seated late, but you might end up having to wait for the pageant.

To answer your other question allow 5 minutes for a leisurely stroll from 'Ohana to the Poly ferry boat dock which IMHO is the best place to view the show.

As PPer accurately noted, the issue with Ohana is the wait time to be seated. Even with ADRs and not during peak seasons, I have waited from 20-75 min to be seated. Just my 2 cents--if your kids don't wait well, you may want to rethink this one.....

I agree with PP. If waiting is an issue with your twins, I would rethink this ADR. 'Ohana always seems to run late. If waiting will upset them you won't enjoy your dinner or the water pageant.
Good Luck

As pp have stated Ohana ressies are really unreliable, would it maybe work to make an earlier ressie and then maybe ride the monorail or find something to do before the water parade and arrive just in time to see it , no wait. Then you would not have to worry about the timing of dinner.

Hmm that's kind of a bummer. Location is good, food and atmosphere sounded good, but ya I may need to rethink this if the wait is that bad. If my hubby really wants it is the lunch wait any better?

I don't believe there is lunch here, just breakfast and dinner.

I haven't heard of 1900 PF having the same issues with wait times substantially past one's ADR time, but there is no guarantee at any restaurant that something won't happen to make them run late.

In terms of 'Ohana, I have had better luck in terms of being seated close to my ADR time when I had an early reservation. I think 'Ohana opens somewhere around 5:00 pm. It's too early to coincide with the EWP, but if eating at 'Ohana is important, that's something to consider.

As aaarcher86 said, 'Ohana is open for breakfast (character) and dinner (no characters) only.

In terms of the EWP, you can watch it from pretty much any of the monorail resorts or the MK depending on the timing. It's nothing spectacular, but it's fun to watch. Could you have an early dinner at 'Ohana then go look at the monorail resorts or the MK and catch the EWP from one of them later? You could ride the monorail or take the ferries from the various resorts (not quite sure what activities would interest your family).

if you look around for Ohana reviews here you will see it's been somewhat hit or miss as it pertains to food and service.
