Timing of site assignment?

Anyone know when FW is likely to actually assign your site? I'm wondering because our location (i.e. proximity to bath house, Meadows, etc.) could well have a lot of bearing on whether we pack certain items. Might seem trivial but our packing space will be at a premium and I will need to pack carefully.

We have a partial hook-up, so we'll obviously be in either 1500 or 2000. But I'm wondering, if we're scheduled to check in on a Saturday, would they have us already assigned on the Wed. before?

One final question - is there coffee at the Meadows, or only up by the Settlement?

Thanks!!

They may assign it on Wed or Thur before, but I don't think ANYONE has ever been successful on finding out there site assignment before they arrive.

The best you can do, is when you arrive, if you don't like your site, drive around and if you find an empty one you like better, call the desk from the comfort station and ask to be moved.

I doubt you'll be able to find out your site assignment before you arrive. I arrived last year several hours before my husband got there with the trailer, and I don't think our site was set in stone even when I first arrived (although I did get the site number a little bit before checkin time and still a few hours before the camper itself arrived).

We've never gotten a specific site assignment before check-in. The loop assignment but not site. And yes, thee is coffee at the Meadows.

Sorry... Weird thing just happened with the computer :confused3 and then the post showed up twice.

When can you get loop assignments? Like OP, we're in a partial hookup and know we'll be in either 1500 or 2000 and would like to find out which loop before we leave home for similar packing purposes. What are the odds of that? Not as concerned about actual site number as which loop. How did you get that ?

We have requested our loop on our reservations at the time of booking, but you can add this later. The problem is that when CRO sends the information for each arrival date about 4 days ahead to FW, if your loop is full you get stuck wherever there is a spot. Our trip in 05 we got our loop, last month we did not. As FW was full, we were told there was nothing to be done except be on a "move list" in the event a site came up. We have a hybrid and moving once set up would have been a royal pain, not to mention a waste of park time. We went into GS and asked them to look at all the site assignments. Not everyone knows they can request a loop, so GS switched our assigned site with someone else's who had no special request and we were closer to where we wanted to be. Not the loop we wanted, but much better than where they had originally put us. We had to ask specifically for this and had indicated we were not pleased etc etc, (we couldn't even upgrade to a preferred loop). I don't know if GS will always do this, but thought I'd pass it along in case someone gets a site that is really not what they need/want. Sometimes GS can help out, but not at the checkin outside.
