timing of reservations at disney resorts

We are heading to Disney April 21-27. We are new to the use of codes for hotels and we see that the Canadian code for All Stars expires April 20. Does anyone know how often these codes might come out? We would like to use a code for All Stars but do not want to wait too long to book our accomodations. How long should we wait? Also the family travelling with us is a family of 5. Does anyone have experience staying at Disney for a reasonable price with 5 to a room?

Welcome to the DIS,JanWhat I think most people would tell you is to book your room right now so that you have a ressie and if and when a code may come out for the All-Stars,call and have it applied to your room.
Ours is only a family of 4 so I cant help you with your other question.

Hi, we are going April 20 - 30, 2002, so we did get the $99.00 code for CSR. This is considered high season, April 21 starts regular season. I knew codes would come out, but did expect them for high season, nor this early. I though mid/late Jan 2002 would see April 21+ codes. The current codes get you $79 at ALL STARS and $99 at MODERATES. I would bet money that even better codes come out for April 21, 2002 onward. You might see $49.00 or $59.00 for ALL STARS, especially if POP CENTURY is ready to go. Maybe $89.00 for MODERATES. This is the type of codes that came out last year. I booked 10 days at $99.00 at Coronado Springs Resorts starting April 20, 2002, that's the last day of the current code so I get the whole time. BUT I will change when the April 21 codes come out. I would think we will see the April 21 codes in a while. GOOD LUCK! S

In answer to your family of 5 question. If one of the children is an infant, then they can stay at the All Star Resorts with the infant in a crib. Otherwise they will need to try to book Port Orleans Riverside in a trundle bed room. All of the deluxe resorts will accomodate 5, as well as the home away from home resorts, but these will be pricey.
