Timing of ADR and fireworks at California Grill?

I have a reservation for 5:50pm and hoping to catch a viewing of Wishes from the Magic Kingdom while we dine. We'll be there in Jan, so do you think we'll see Wishes or should I try to reschedule for a later time?

If I am not mistaken Wishes should be 9pm. Could be 8pm, but I think it was 9pm this past jan/feb.

So that means you would have to be there at least 2 hours. Even for Cali Grill that is a LONG time.

I would shoot for 7:30pm. That you could either be enjoying appys or dessert when the show starts.

i agree with the last post of maybe around 7pm IF you want to be there dining while the fireworks go off. If you just want to see the fireworks from the view there, it doens't matter what time you eat there. You can always keep your 5:50pm ressie and just keep your reciept and you will be allowed to come back to watch the fireworks. not sure if this helps or not, either way, enjoy your trip...

It's going to be very difficult to get an ADR for later time. So while you may not be sitting at your table eating while Wishes is going on, you can still watch from the restaurant later since anyone who dines there that evening is welcome to return for the fireworks.

Just be advised that not all tables have an MK view. We were there one night in January during Wishes, and we left our table to go out to the catwalk and watch, then came back in to finish dinner. Our server held our entrees for us so they were fresh and hot when we got back to our table (they're used to that! )

I usually try to get our ADR around 7:15-7:45 then we show up about 20 minutes early to check in and request a table with a view of the castle. We don't necessarily care about being right by the window. We've had table twice on the end of the restaurant facing the Magic Kingdom and had a great view.
