Timing for the Osborne Lights and the Merry & Bright Party

I was just curious at about what time right now they're turning on the Osborne Lights?

We're trying to decide whether we want to go to the 5:00pm party or the 7:00pm party. We'll be there on January 3rd, and forecast is calling for rain so I know it'll likely be held indoors. I figure it's likely to be less crowded during the 7:00-8:30 party due to Fantasmic, but I'm worried about the party starting while the lights are coming on and not getting to see the last lighting ceremony. We've never seen the Lights before, so I want to be there for all of it.

They haven't updated the page, but they're allowing booking for a 5:00 pm party, and a Disney Dining CM also confirmed a 5:00 party over the phone, so...

SO SO sad to not be able to do this. I went down a few weeks ago to see them ..... can't go back.

Love the shadow box. Two questions for anyone who attended tonight.

1. Are the lights in the shadow boxes all the same color? We have two people and would prefer different colored lights if possible.

2. What are the food and drink offerings?

Hey, FCR! Did they host the party outside, or under the cover of Studio Catering Company? Can't wait to hear your review. I am close to pulling the plug on the 3rd, unless I can swing in on the 2nd... I think after tonight it is going to be COLD! This unusually warm winter has us spoiled!

I am also interested in a review about tonight's party. We have reservations for the 3rd but it looks like rain in the forecast. Assuming that means we wont be able to see the lights while dining and not sure if it is worth the money if that is the case.

The party was in the back of the lights area under the globe. They had 4 station set up for food. One was a carving station with turkey stuffing and mashed potatoes. One had braised greens, cheesy polenta, and shrimp with anduiolle sausage in a spicy cajun sauce, one had mac and cheese with panko, pita bread, and a fish dish i beleive was a white fish or salmon. The fourth was the desert station with a chocolate bundt cake, a cheesecake bite with raspberry, sugar cookies, macaroons, coconut chocolate thing, apple pie with sugar crust, and peach pie with pecan crust.

The souvenier lights did come in seperate colors though they said theydid not. Theres no way to know when you get the box but I got a red light and my mom a clear one. I'll post a full review in the morning.
