We have a 6/3 5:20p Cape May ADR. Plan is to RD HS, enjoy rides/FP's, etc, then :boat: to the Boardwalk area (which we've never been able to fit in before) as a sudo midday break. Then head over to dinner and :boat: back to HS for shopping & SW's fireworks :darth: Couple of questions I can't seem to get ironed out in my head lol :confused3

1) I'd of course love to avoid eating lunch @ HS. However, I'm finding it difficult narrowing down non TS Boardwalk options? Pizza window I guess? But honestly, I'd rather HS over that. (Dont judge lol, but I've grown fond of the fried green tomato sandwich from of all places...Rosie's-typical :crazy2: I know ha). Anyone know of any Boardwalk area non TS lunch ideas? We're not looking to get too full to save room for getting fat and happy at dinner ha :P For convenience, I'm currently tempted to suck it up & just eat before we head over there. But, I was hoping to find something new to us instead.

2) If we don't eat lunch and only want to head over to walk around, look through the shops (not many right?), enjoy ice cream (DD), the margarita stand :drinking1, and rest by the water to re-charge a bit: what kind of comfy time frame would that be? Trying to figure out when we'd want to leave HS, then allot enough chill time that it feels lazy/relaxed in heading over to Cape May to stuff our faces :cloud9:

Bonus question: What's the timing getting to Cape May from Boardwalk? And walk or boat? If a pretty walk, that sounds nice.

The walk would be maybe 10 minutes, if that. I really doubt that you would be spending more than an hour or 2 at Boardwalk at the most unless you were going to spend some time enjoying a cocktail or 2. The Boardwalk bakery has some pretty good sandwiches, but unless you went there a lot earlier you would be eating way to close to buffet time. I don't remember the name of the place, but where ever they moved the Starring Rolls food to would be a decent option for sandwiches in HS.

There really isn't much to do on the Boardwalk mid-day. All of the entertainment really starts at night. Midday, you will probably be bored after about 30-45 minutes, so, if you really want to go beforehand, I guess I would aim to be there around 4:20 pm or so. If you walk, I would be walking out of DHS around 4/4:05 pm. The boat can take much longer if there isn't one right at the dock (plus BWI is the last stop), so if you take that option, I would probably be at the boat dock around 3:45 pm.

If you want to get something to eat there, the Boardwalk Bakery has great sandwiches and salads, but, with the timing of your dinner, you may want to just grab something earlier in DHS.

What time do the Star Wars fireworks start? Personally, I would boat from DHS to BC for your dinner, then walk over to the Boardwalk after dinner to try to catch one or two of the outdoor shows, play a carnival game or two, get some Ample Hills ice cream, margarita or stop in AbracadaBAR and then either boat or walk back to DHS for the evening.

Walking from Cape May to Boardwalk will take no more than 5 minutes tops.

I'd stay at HS and eat some lunch there or even go back to your resort. Then head over to the BW area around 4 or 4:30. There's not much going on until evening.

Agree w pp

The fun things at the BW all start later. Otherwise it is just hot w little to no shade midday.

If you have a park hopper, you could pop over to Epcot via the International gateway for a light lunch.France would be right there.

Not much to do on the boardwalk - I'd just stay at HS til nearly ADR time.
Just a 5 min. walk from Boardwalk Inn to Cape May.
