Timing a points transfer?

Hello,

I'm thinking I may have to have around 12 points transferred into my account for the vacation I want. Should I transfer the points first then try to get the ressie? Can't get the ressie without the points, I guess, but what if I transfer then find the resort is sold out?

Yeah you need the points available to make the reservation. And if you get the points transferred and the resort is sold out you can go on a waitlist, bank the points or pick another resort.
