Timeshare offers for tickets

Hi All...
for those whohave gone recently to Orlando, are the timeshare offers better or worse comapred to a few years back, taking into account the economy in the US recently?

I'm going to Florida in November. I'll be using my no-expiry Disney tickets but my kids would love to go to Universal at least for one day.

A friend of mine mentioned he got 3 tickets to Universal last year (2 adults, one kid, park hopper for 7 days) after going through the 90 minute presentation to one of the timeshare companies.

Are these offers still going on?

I got two free Universal park passes last year for our Timeshare tour at the Hilton Grand vacation Club. That said, I would only do these tours for name brands like Marriott, Hilton, or Sheraton. I have heard the others are terrible and you have to practically call the cops to get yourself released!!!

I have read here at the DIS to avoid Westgate like the plague!

Yes, avoid Westgate like the plague! We went to a "90 minute" presentation and were there for at least three hours. We felt totally harrassed and berated by the end. My husband and I still use one of our favorite lines (offered up by the young, sleazy, sales manager after we said no to our sales rep) "Who wouldn't want this?!" But if you're into that sort of thing and have some time on your hands...
