My sister recently got a time share through RCI which she'll trade for a week on Disney property. There will be 5 of us: My sister and I and our 3 children ages 8, 7 and 4. Will be be able to get a 2BR villa at AKL? Or if not, will a 1BR fit us all? And which should be try for (if given a choice) Jambo or Kidani?
thanks, all! You've never failed me. :-):thumbsup2

I'm gonna send this over to our DVC - Planning forum; that's where you'll find the RCI experts. :thumbsup2

A 1 bedroom in a regular villa (not value) will hold 5 people- there is a King bed in the master bedroom, a sleeper sofa (double I believe) and a sleer chair (twin). If you cannot guarentee the kind of villa beyond size- then you need to ask for Kindani as the value rooms are only in Jambo and hold 4 people not 5 (no sleeper chair).

I don't know anything about RCI trades.

In the one bedroom villa, the sleeper sofa is queen sized. In a studio, it's double sized.

VERY good to know, thank you both! Hoping to get some RCI help on this thread, too....hopefully this will bump it up...

I think all of the RCI trades for AKL go to Kidani. RCI will not specify and their agents tend to not have many details. When they looked up the room information including square footage I figured out that it was Kidani. Start checking the RCI website as soon as your booking window opens. I notice that they seem to add inventory on a regular basis, so keep checking on a regular basis. I have seen a nice variety of Studio, 1BR and 2BR on RCI points. Saratoga and Old Key West have the most inventory and I have never seen BLT. AKL, BWV and BCV pop up on certain weeks for certain unit sizes. If you are trading a weeks unit you will need a lot of "trading power" on your unit to get a DVC.

My sister's home resort is in Hawaii and is either a 1BR or 2BR, not a studio. I hope that holds considerable trading power.:woohoo:

My family stayed at BCV Feb 6th-13th, two bedroom villa, that we got through an RCI trade. We own at World Golf Village. I have no idea how much "trade power" our unit has, but I guess it must have been a high trade power. :confused3 In fact I asked about "trade power" and the RCI people would not tell me anything...
It was really easy. We had plenty of DVC inventory to choose from...The DVC MS were very helpful! RCI-not as helpful...
I hope this is helpful!

Has anyone seen BLT? We were hoping for a BLT unit summer of 2011.
