After we tell our guide that we will be purchasing, what happens next? When do we send deposit? When do we send total purchase price? Dues are prorated starting after closing?

We gave our deposit with the decision and paid the rest with the documents. When we added on at AKV, we paid for it with a credit card all at once, when we first talked to our guide.

Dues will usually be prorated from the date the deposit is paid. You will also be able to begin making reservations once they receive the deposit.

Doc, I thought that the dues were prorated from the closing date. That is not correct?

As Doc said, once you pay the deposit, your points are immediately available. As far as i know the OKW price from DVC is still $96.

I have been learning a lot by reading the boards. But I am still wondering, after you make your deposit, how long before you receive your closing documents? I do know that payment is made with the closing documents.

I believe that they say within 7 days. And I know with my add on the final payment was due within 30 days. The paperwork was due back sooner. The paperwork usually comes pretty quickly. And it comes with tons of fun stuff as well!

If closing will be based on when the unit opens - as it did with SSR and now AKV, then the dues would be based on that date - but otherwise they are usually based on when the commitment is made and reservations may be made using the points. If the purchase will be at OKW, it will be based on the deposit (purchase) date.

We talked to our guide yesterday. The dues are prorated to the day of deposit. We have our questions answered. Now, all we have to do is make one more decision and get our money ready to send.
