Hi all,

We've recently been battling back and forth with our at-home reception. We currently have it schedule for just over a month after our wedding (which is 10/12, reception is 11/15) but to me it's really feeling too soon. The problem is of course that pushing it later gets us into holiday territory, but I don't know if January is too late (3 months after) that it won't feel appropriate.

When did you all have your receptions? Did anyone have theirs in the midst of the holiday season? (I wouldn't mind early December but I don't want things to be stressful for our guests.) We'll be inviting our whole guest list (115, about 40 of which won't be in Florida) and probably still going to keep it as a casual yet catered brunch.

Love to hear everyone's thoughts!

Ours was six months after. The wedding was 11/5, and by the time we got home from the honeymoon, Thanksgiving was less than two weeks away. Further complicating matters was the fact that we live in Montana, and the "home" reception was hosted by my family ... in my home state of California. It's risky booking air travel from here during the snowy months, so we waited until the first weekend in May.

Yeah, I think you'll probably get more yes RSVPs if you push it after the holidays. Many people wait until their photos and videos are ready, and with videos, that can sometimes be many months after the wedding. So I wouldn't worry about the delay.
