i have read on another website the timekeeper is no more. i know it's been going out of the picture for a while now. can anyone confirm this that was there recently? it was posted that it was a pin shop and meet and great area as well as a photoshop in the works to open. anyone know for sure??

I'm not sure if they still have Timekeeper for overflow (during peaks). But every time I've seen it open its now a meet and greet for Buzz Lightyear - however they still have all the Timekeeper signs up.

Timekeeper is still open, but rarely. Most recently it was open July 3 and 4. I believe the last time it was open before than was last July 4. I make sure whenever I see it open I visit. It is one of my favorites and I hate to see it always closed.

When I was there on the 3rd it was defintely setup as a meet&greet for Buzz. They had a big sign with an arrow out pointing toward the entry door. I was in tomorrowland around 11:30-noon that day (had lunch at the noodle station).

Can you remind me what the Timekeeper was?

I haven't been on that ride in years.

Sorry, is that sarcasm, or do you really not know?

No, not sarcasm. I really have not been on it in years. We go to WDW all the time< but pass it by

All right then, I'll give you brief synopsis. It is not a ride, it is like the circle vision theatres such as the ones in China and Canada, but it has a foward "stage" that has a robotic figure with, I believe Robin Williams voice, and he has this time machine thing that is supposed to be transporting you through different times in history, which is depicted on the "circle Vision" screens. Does that ring a bell?

thank you> It's starting to. I guess my ds9 would enjoy it.

Thanks again>

Disney still considers the Timekeeper to be operating seasonally, although I have not really seen it up and running. The last time I saw it in any capacity, they were using the area for the photo location for MNSSHP and MVMCP. For the most part, seasonally usually means during peak and holiday times, but it's been closed more often than not even during those periods lately.

It was open when we were there durring the week before christmas last year... So I am guessing it is holiday and peak still.

In fact, it's one of the most literate (and literary) shows at WDW. Our entire family loves the show because it combines a moving story with characters that have an IQ larger than the number of fingers on one foot (including Jules Verne and H.G. Wells). The rides at WDW (particularly at Epcot) have had most of the content dumbed out of them over the years, which is a shame. But the Timekeeper is intelligent--and of course, they open it only a few days out of the year. Arggh.

Its likely often down for one simple reason: standing room only. When it is running and you do get in there you have bars you can lean on and stand, not seats. You're asked not to sit on the floor because its dark and they don't want people tripping over you, and people, being people, do anyway. And I'm guessing its a bit of a hazard, so they don't open it to avoid issues.

I doubt that that would be a reason. Both China and Canada have exactly the same type of set up, and they have been running uninterupted for many years, in fact, changing the movie in China recentley, and continuing the same type of operation, just with a different movie.
I believe that Canada may be up for a new movie as well as some other changes at the site.

It was open in late April too. It was just as lame as I remembered. I actually thought the one is Paris was better and the translator headphones weren't working.

Just wondering, do you find similar shows in China and Canada lame as well, or is it just something about Timekeeper?

I really hate Robin Williams. I love the China and Canada movies, they are more about the beauty of the lands not a campy robot cracking unfunny jokes.

Our family loves  Timekeeper also. We enjoy the concept of going back in time :hourglass and a getting a glimsp of what it may have been like in Jules Verne and H.G. Wells time.
Last time we saw it was early October 2003.
Hope it is open when we go this October.
