Hi,
Has there been any predictions on when SSR will sellout?

Thanks-
Donna

I've predicted a minimum of 8-10 years and likely more like 10-12 for the announced size currently.

WOW! Longer than I would have guessed. Didn't DVC state that SSR was 3/4 sold when they anounced a phase III? I might be wrong...

I did see SSR (from Downtown DIS) last Oct and then again in June 04. It looked quite nice. However, it didn't seem to have the same magic (to me) as the existing resorts. (But, I'm also not a big fan of the real Saratoga in NY.)

I don't believe so but wouldn't believe it if they did. Remember that VWL and BCV sold out in somewhat over a year each, of course for less units. And SSR isn't a destination resort for many, many time it's simply a way to get into the system. But we will see, at this point your guess is as good as mine.

At the time that Phase Three was announced, 3/4 of Phase ONE was sold out. That's 3 of 4 buildings. By August '04 (about 12 months after they first started selling SSR) most of those first four buildings were sold out. DVC did hold back some points in Phase One for current member add-ons.

So, in a year's time, they sold about 22% of the resort (4 of 18 buildings.) Whether that pace will continue remains to be seen.

Unless the timeshare industry really goes downhill...or something happens to seriously affect our economy again (another major terrorist attack), I have a hard time believing that it will take 8 to 10 years to sell out. Maybe 4 or 5...

We'll just have to wait and see.

They have to hurry up and sell it out so they can announce the plans for the new DVC Resort at the Contemporary ;)

I'm thinking the AP discount may help them keep up the brisk sales. I think 5 or 6 years seems more like it. We swam at SSR in October while staying at OKW. I thought it was beautiful and we would love to stay there.

Wow, 8-10 years. I suspect that's a bit pessimistic. At any rate, the longer the better- as ROFR is just propped up that much longer frankly...

I spoke to my guide about this (of course no official news). Thought they would not announce a new resort until SSR sell out but she stated "they usually sell 2 at a time to give people choices."

Here's hoping
Sandy

I asked our guide when we visited and purchased on 11/12. I was told that his prediction was about 2 1/2 years from now.

I will take a guess: say 5 years or so....
Wonder what the points will sell for then??
I will guess $115-120/point 5 years from now.....
