The rain is really coming down and there are flood warnings in effect for this area. We have flooded 2x before and I really think it just might happen again.

This time, I won't be foolish enough to think it won't happen here. I waited until the last possible minute to evacuate and ended up walking thru 3 feet of flood ( yuk) water with three kids. DS is sick with a temp. of 102 :( so I think I'd better play it safe, pack up and be ready.

((Hugs))
We were stranded at work last year due to the floods of HURRICANE Allison.......very scary.

You are doing the right thing, especially with a sick child. Stay safe and I hope that there is no flooding.:D

I would leave , better safe than sorry!

Hope it gets better real quick and you don't have to leave.

Hopefully GOD will prevent any flooding and insure the safety of your family:) . After all, he/she DOES control the heavens...........right?????  ........

Hopefully the rains will slacken off, luvtogo12, and you will be fine, but always good to be ready. We have experienced that a few times over the many years, not good.

My best for your little guy, hope the temperature breaks soon and he feels better. Take care, try to stay dry. :sunny:

Take care of yourself...please try to let us know when you are safe from the floods...

I hope the rains lighten up for you. Better to be safe than sorry though. Take care of yourself and I hope your DS feels better soon!

I hope your son feels better soon, and I hope you don't have to leave.

Where in New Jersey are you??? You got me wondering now, too! In my town in New Jersey we really haven't got much rain - not even puddles out there on the roads.

Sure hope you won't have to go!

Well, the rain stopped early enough and there was no reason to evacuate. I get a little paranoid when I hear "flood warnings are in effect" Thankfully, it never amounted to what we were being warned against
DS is much better, thank you all for your concerns. I am still waiting to hear the results of his strep test but he is on anti-biotics.

JJ and Hugs......I am in Central Jersey, in the Bound Brook area.

EROS, EROS, EROS.................God is always watching over me and my family. I see it everyday. I see it in the three miracles he helped to create, I call those miracles my children.

Had it flooded, I would not have blamed God. He simply is providing us with what we need...water. I would, however, blame (for lack of a better word) mankind for taking this beautiful land God created and building it up so much, taking over the lands ability to absorb the excess.

Just a little insight into my God, please respect my opinion as I do yours. ;)

I certainly respect your beliefs and wish you the best:) :) :) :) .

Thank you EROS, that was a very sweet reply!
For some strange reason, I did not expect that you would let me off so easily. :) :) :)

Luvtogo, I NEVER have a problem with people here expressing their FAITH; my own DW is a devout Catholic;) ;) ;).

However, I feel that my views deserve equal respect even if many consider them to be abominable or satanic or insensitive or irascible.;) RESPECT is a two-way street, but the RIGHTEOUS often don't wish to accord it to "non-believers"...........

Never been in that kind of situation, but I don't think I'd be hanging around to see what was going to happen. I'd be geting out & making sure we were safe.....;)
