Okay....so I want to make sure I have this correct as this is a change from the last time I sailed out of Port Canaveral...If we are staying the night before our cruise at the port and heading over via taxi or a shuttle from the hotel we CANNOT get to the terminal prior to 11am. Is this correct? Is there any way to get there earlier in this scenario? I want to get into port ASAP.

TIA

I'm fairly sure you can get to the terminal before 11. Just that once there all you can do is sit and wait for your turn to board.

I think shuttles aren't allowed prior to 11, but taxis might be. When we cruised in November, our rental car shuttle couldn't take us in until 11, which they said was the rule.

Odd-I"m pretty sure our DCL shuttle from the Airport got to the terminal before 11.

Maybe not--

Correct... the DCL shuttles were allowed in. Ours was a shuttle from the rental car company. From what we were told, the car company shuttles and hotel shuttles weren't allowed in until 11.

Can you walk from rental car location to the terminal?
Also many people on here say they arrive at the port at by 10:30...how did they get in the terminal that early if no vehicles are allowed until 11? I want to get to the terminal as early as possible

How do they enforce this when shuttles are picking up guests from the previous cruise?

They require everyone to be off the ship by 9 AM, and so the last rental car shuttles running from the port are going to be not long after that. Plus, at the rental car office I would guess they just don't let you get on the shuttle before 11 AM.

OP, if the port will not allow commercial vehicles before 11a.m., you might consider using Uber.

Now my only experience was Miami's port and when there are several people going to the same location then there are multiple trips by shuttles. When we arrived at Miami's port at 10am (yes 10am) there were still many many previous cruisers waiting on their shuttles.

I can imagine with 4k passengers leaving and 4k passengers going how can they control this?

Lastly, my Radisson shuttle is for 10:30 and the hotel is only 1.1 mile away.

The shuttles coming from say CIS or the Radisson or even rental cars can start going in about 1030. I called CIS and asked since we are going over Weds morning to the Dream. Realistically they really can't enforce what time people come in since there is no guard gate like Miami used to have. Not sure if they still do. This was about 15 years ago. What will happen though if you arrive too early, there are no porters to take incoming bags as they are usually eother taking a quick break or still getting homebound guests off the ship and out of the terminal.

No, while it isn't far, it really isn't walkable. Private vehicles (driven by you) are allowed in, sometimes as early as 10:00am. It seems the rental shuttles and limo services are the ones indicating restrictions on entry.

When is your PAT? Unless you have an early PAT, there is no particular need to arrive "as early as possible" because you won't board the ship any earlier. Your boarding number -- given at check-in -- is tied directly to your PAT.

Enjoy your cruise!

Mine is at 10:30 and I would like to see about upgrades. That is why I want to get there early

If Radisson let you book a shuttle for 10:30 AM, then I assume that there permitted to go in before 11. Unless they're planning to just sit at the gate for half an hour.

Has anyone been able to confirm what category Taxi's fall into? Are they allowed in at 10:30 for our 10:30 PAT?

Thank you
