Time to Decide

This morning my two round trip reward flights (cc incentive) were applied to my account and then I hop on here and find AP rates have been released as well! Time to decide exactly when to go!

We could leave late Tuesday, arriving at MCO around 9:30pm. Do the parks on Wednesday, HHN on Thursday (Halloween), off Friday, IOA on Saturday, US on Sunday, both parks again on Monday and return on Tuesday. My daughter will miss 5 days of school. But we wouldn't arrive at the hotel until very late.

Or we could leave Wednesday, skip Wednesday (can't plan a park on arrival day since DD had ear troubles the other time we flew) in the parks and follow the same schedule as above. We'd lose a day in the parks this way. Three days is probably enough, but we really are looking forward to a relaxing vacation (unlike any other Amusement Park vacation we have taken). Also I'm not sure how keen I am on the idea of waiting three days before we get a crack at the parks (want to rest up before and after HHN on Thursday!).

I like the idea of arriving earlier, but if it's a choice between that and an extra day in the parks, I'd go with the extra day.

So we could leave Wednesday and follow the same plan except we could return on Wednesday which would again give us 4 days in the parks, but my daughter would miss 6 days of school. She'll be in 10th grade and is one of those kids straight A kids who has to expend little to no effort so it will probably be okay...

Also if we leave on Tuesday, it would have to be from BWI. I'd prefer to leave from Philly (which we could do if we left Wednesday) simply because my folks live in NE PA, so I'm familiar with the route and the one other time we flew it was out of Philly. Need I mention that I tend to avoid things if I'm not familiar with them? When we went to Orlando last summer I kept telling my family "I'm WAAAAY out of my comfort zone here!" I have been to BWI once a couple of years ago to pick someone up and I remember thinking the drive wasn't so bad (except for the Bay Bridge which freaks me out ), but that was on a Saturday.

So I'm looking at a late arrive from a less desireable (to me) airport. But DD would only miss 5 days of school and we would have a day in the parks before HHN.

OR

Arriving earlier, using an airport that doesn't scare me as much, but not going to the parks before HHN and losing a full day in the parks.

OR

Same as option two except my DD would miss 6 days of school and we would still have 4 full days in the parks.

I know it is silly and I shouldn't be worrying over it so, but being somewhat OCD with insecurity issues, I do tend to like a little outside input and validation! :confused3

Dilemma solved, writing it all out really helped. I just had to decide what was more important and then it was easy! :yay: So we'll be going Tues, Oct 29 through Tues, Nov 5 since time in the parks, missing less school, and getting in some park time prior to HHN are more important than arriving late or which airport I have to use.

Gah, I'm such a wus, but thank you for your help!

This type of thing only happens to me... The school has finally released their calendar for next year and they have off on Wednesday Nov 6! Who has off just a Wednesday! :headache: Gah! My daughter will probably be thrilled since now she won't have to worry about make-up work while we're gone, she'll just do it all on her extra day off. But I'm more than a little annoyed since the deciding factor was less time out of school, I really would have preferred going Wed - Wed.
