Time to Cruise

When is the best time (season) to do a Disney Cruise. Looking at the 7 day cruise that goes to Castaway Cay.
For us, any cruise is the best time to do it.

As for you, it would depend on what you want - hot, steamy weather? Christmas or Halloween activities? mid-winter break? Only you know.

That being said, we've cruised in (on various cruise lines, not just DCL) February, May, June, July, September, October, and December.

I agree with PrincessShmoo. It's a personal decision. If you are looking for lower prices, then stay away from summer, school breaks, and holidays. Hurricane season runs from June through November and peaks in August and September, but the chances of you having to deal with a hurricane even in peak months are low. I cruised in early October and had great weather.

We tend to look at itinerary and price and that will give us some dates. :)

We have been in November, January, and September/October. November was nice...but water at Castaway Cay was too cold to swim there. January was really nice weather...but again the water at Castaway Cay was too cold to enjoy. Sept/Oct we went out of Galveston...had to avoid a hurricane...again had nice weather all around, but a bit warmer and stickier at Castaway Cay and at Key West. However we could enjoy snorkeling at Castaway Cay because the water felt so nice. This time we are doing October again, mostly because we want to be able to enjoy the clear blue water at Castaway Cay, even if it means dealing with some warmer and sticker outside weather.
