I have been debating the length of stay for my Disneyland solo trip. I will be going after a business trip. This is the first time in 3 years that I've been in California. I've never seen Cars Land -- and I look forward to seeing it. I don't know when I will get back to California to get there again.

My debate has been -- two nights or one in a hotel.

As of now I have a hold on a hotel room for two nights. I can switch it to one night. The cost difference is $82.66. Park passes bought through Ares travel are $255 for 3 day park hoppers (with one day Magic Morning entry) or $211 for two day park hoppers. So that's a difference of $44 for another day at the parks.

That means if I do two nights it will cost me $126.66 additional. (Plus food, but I can do food on the cheap.)

I just have to commit. Now if only I could. LOL

I'm a little confused. Are you asking whether you should do a two-night/three-day trip or a one-night/two-day trip?

I've gone solo before. It's definitely possible to get around more quickly than with a group, and doing the majority of the parks in two days is possible if lines aren't too bad. I prefer having 3 days. One in each park and then one to catch anything I may have missed.

Are you going on the weekend or during the week? and what time of year? If it's likely that, given the time you are going, the parks will be less busy then 2 days might be possible. If the parks are busy I think you'd be hard pressed.

If the overall cost to stay a third day is approx 125, and you don't have scheduling constraints, I'd probably do it. It's nice not having to rush.

LOL you are right to be confused. It is partially my thinking out loud -- or in this case by posting in public.

I'm leaning towards doing two nights -- of course. I will be heading to Disneyland from LA on a Monday morning using a shuttle. The issue is that the shuttles don't start running super early so by the time I get to Anaheim, check into the hotel and get over to the park it probably won't be until 11am. Early March the parks won't be open super late either.

On my last day I will be catching a shared shuttle back to the airport to head home.

Yay for solo trips! I took my first one last year and will be doing another one in May. I was going to do Dapper Day with DH for my birthday but decided to wait and go in May when the 60th anniversary kicks off. I also decided to only do one night/2 days, same as my other trip. My reason for this is because I want to stay onsite at DLH and use the pools. I get pretty tired in the afternoons so it will be nice to come back each afternoon, relax and take advantage of the full resort experience. I also don't sleep well when I'm on my own so I'd rather do one night at a really nice hotel where I'll feel more pampered than 2 nights at an average motel where I won't end up sleeping well (which was my experience last time). DLH will let me use the pools both days so my plan is to do mornings and early afternoons in the parks, come back for pool time in the late afternoon, then back for dinner and shows at night. I don't have to leave until 8pm to catch my flight on the 2nd day.

I do agree that you can get A LOT done going solo, even on a crowded day. Take advantage of the single rider lines on Indiana Jones, RSR, and California Screamin. Unfortunately the other rides that have SRLs like Matterhorn and Splash Mtn will be down while you are there. Also, just so you are not shocked, the castle will be covered over until Mar 2nd, due to re-open on Mar 3rd, so that may sway you to stay an extra day to see the castle.

Have fun!
