Time scale for ordering AP & DDE

Hi all,

I am hoping to order APs and a DDE card to use for our upcoming August trip.. How much time would you allocate for receiving all relevant paperwork? While I understand you can show your DDE email to get the discount, I would prefer to have the card..

I ordered my DDE on Friday, and they said it could take up to 6 weeks

6 weeks?! Holy moly- I'm glad I asked!! Even if it doesn't end up taking that long, as a compulsive planner I like to allow for all eventualities!

I was wondering the same thing. Is it not better to just pick up an AP at the airport and buy the DDE upon arrival at the resort?

I'm sure that the DDE is something that can only be ordered, you cannot buy it once you're out there

That is correct the DDE can only be prepurchased once an AP or AP voucher has been purchased.

Technically this is correct, you can only order DDE by phone and it is not available in resort. What you can do is call when you arrive at WDW and order a DDE card, they can have a letter at Epcot Guest Relations for you the next day which you can use for the discounts for your stay. The card will be sent to your home when it's ready.

When I ordered my AP and DDE last year the AP voucher arrived in 3 or 4 days but the DDE cards took 8 weeks and actually didn't arrive until after our trip, but they sent out a letter for us to use instead and it worked fine. You need the AP or AP voucher to order DDE.

My DDE card took about 5 weeks to arrive. Unfortunately, my AP has run out and the card needs renewing in September (we dont travel til December) so I will have to use the letter from Epcot this year as I dont want to get another AP till I get there.

Yes, although I ordered it a couple of weeks ago, mine is valid through to 31/05/07

When we went on the first day we went and bought the AP's, ther eis no discout for buying them early. Then we called DDE the same day and bought that, a temprary card was waiting at Epcot guest relatins the same day after 5 pm.

The good thing was that bought that way the APs run out one month and the DDE does not expire until 2 months later.
