Time question regarding flight and rental car

We are flying into LAX next month on Southwest. On average how long would it take to get luggage and then get to car rental counter?

Depends on where you sit on the plane. It takes about 15-20 minutes to unload a 737.

And at LAX, all of the rental car places are offsite, so there is another 15 minutes or so to catch your shuttle.

I am not familiar with LAX. How is baggage claim? Is it far from the SW terminal and does it take forever for the luggage to get to the carousel?

I am just trying to make sure we can make it to Midway Rental Car before they close at 9pm. Our flight is scheduled to land at 7:40pm. TIA!

Shouldn't have a problem. We flew Air Canada, but it only took us about half an hour from walking off the plane to arrive at Budget Rental Car. I would probably call Midway and see if they can give you any advice.
