what do you guys think is the best time of year weather wise to go on a cruise if you have an open schedule. Does anyone know when it's the cheapest to cruise what month? Thank you
All a matter of perspective. We loved February - April to be able to escape the cold of New England! We've done September, October, February and April. April was probably our favorite. September was too hot for us.
We went in early May- good prices and the weather was ideal. The water at Castaway Cay was the perfect temperature.
Whenever you go- enjoy your cruise!!!
We typically go end of January early February, weather has been nice for us and the prices aren't too bad (better in Jan)! It can be a wee bit chilly on the decks around Florida but sailing out its great!
If you are doing Caribbean I think spring. We enjoyed April as there was great weather and there is a less likely chance of storms. We got a great deal this past year and cruised in Feb and enjoyed it. It was on the cold side the first and last day of the cruise but was quite warm once we got further south. We had a great time on that one as well, but did prefer the weather in April. We are doing a Star Wars themed cruise next year so picked Feb for that reason. And because its nice to get out of Wisconsin in Feb.
As far as an objective view of weather, google "bahamas weather", and one of the sites listed is Weatherspark.com. They have quite a few graphs that show monthly trends on everything from air temp to precipitation to cloud cover. We used that information to change our cruise to October since we're happy with the weather. Happy cruising!

May/September is cheaper, but waters may be stormer. Some ports activities shut down the first week of September. May at times has ice congestion preventing a meet with the mighty Sawyer.
I've done two August trips.... I got soaked half the time. Weather Almanc shows August is the start of the wet season in Alaska.
Cheapest is sept through Jan minus holidays. My favorite would be May, Sept, Oct. The week after Thankgiving, first week of dec, last week of Feb, and the first week after the Easter week break will have good prices, and usually some good last minute rates. Any week after a holiday week cruises, hotels, etc tend to not sell . Good time to travel anywhere those weeks if your looking for deals. The Caribbean is pretty nice year round. There isn't a time of year I wouldn't go.
