Just wondering how long it takes to get to your hotel room after you land?? We are landing at Orlando at 9:16 am. And we are staying at All Star Movies.

I am thinking we will get to our hotel room around 11ish. I think check in time is at 3 pm, so I doubt our hotel room will be ready. What would you do once you get to your hotel? (At the moment I am thinking we will start are check-in process, and then maybe grab lunch at the dining hall. Would you then stay and swim or go to a park??) I am affraid it is going to be a long day and kids will be missing nap times.

We are a group of 6. 2 familes traveling with a 1 year old and a 2 and 1/2 year old.

Thanks!

We stayed at CSR and landed at 11ish and we were in our room by 12:30! We were able to go to our room as soon as we arrived. We chose to swim and then go to Epcot that evening as our first day. I would do the same again.

This gave us time to read about the resort find out where shuttles were and just regroup after flying.

Have a wonderful time.

I would definitely not plan on being able to get into your room before 5pm even. Disney doesn't have to have your room ready until 5pm. We flew a red eye with the kids last June and arrived at POR around 10am. Long story short, our room wasn't available until 5pm. Luckily I had a planned for such a event, we packed our swim suits and a change of clothes in our carry ons. The kids played in the pool all day and I napped in a lounge chair. It made for a long day.
My DH and I stayed at POP in October and didn't get our room until 2pm. We opted to go to a park as it was to cold to hang out by the pool.
Hopefully you will have the luck that some disers have and receive a room when you check in.
Plan for the worst and everything else will be a bonus. :sunny:

You can complete the check in process as soon as you arrive at the resort. If your room isn't ready, they will give you a number to call to get your room number.

Once you check in, you can store you carry ons with baggage check and then head to a park.

We were wondering the same thing. We arrive in Orlando at 9:30 a.m. It might be a challenge but we are going to try and go to MK. We did it last year and it worked out fine, although we were in our room by 3 p.m.

I find that the kids are just so anxious to go to a park that it really "gets it out of their system."

It took us slightly over 3 hours to get into our rooms last Nov. when we used Magic Express. I'd probably plan 1-3 hours, and be flexible. If naps are essential, I'd probably consider heading for a park and hoping they will sleep in their stroller. The odds of sleeping by the pool would be very low. But it will probably be much cooler by the pool!

You could also head over to Downtown Disney for a while!

You may be able to get into a room early, but do not count on it. Also, your luggage takes like 2-3 hours to arrive from Magical Express, so don't count on having your luggage either! Bring a backpack with a bathing suit and whatever you might need to take to a park. Then you could go to the pool or go to a park, or you could even go to Downtown disney. Maybe the kids could swim in the pool, then when they get tired and it is nap time, sleep out by the pool covered in towels?
Extra carry on luggage can be stored at the hotel if you go out.

My girls are always starving after we land so we store our luggage and head for some lunch. We call the number to see if room is ready or not and if it isnt we head to a park and come back before getting ready for dinner to freshen up and head out for the night. If you dont have hopper passes or don't want to waste a pass for half a day. You could head downtown, go to a different resort to check it out if interested, playground to burn off that plane energy build up.

Thanks everyone. I think we will be packing bathing suits and swimmies in our carry ons. I am affraid we are going to have a lot of carry ons.
