Hi all

NEWBIE TO DL..........and need HONEST opinions!!!

We are DW peeps, this will be our first trip ever to DL. We are driving down from NY, I know I know crazyyyyyyy lol
So time is tight, so in your honest opinion is 2 days enough? should we go for 3 days?
and if we do do 2 days do you suggest hoppers?

TIA
Danielle

I'm usually not a hopper person, but if I had only 3 days, I'd get them. It would give me more options, like if one park closes early, I can get a couple more hours in the other park.

In two days, you cannot expect to do it all. You will, for sure, be able to get the things you can't at DW (which, for some DW pros is the real goal). My advice, spend as much time as you can there, but don't feel like you have to do it all. DLR's main attraction is that there is a lot of spontaneity to the "magic." Rush too much and you will miss it.

Being that it's your first time and you'll have three days, I would not get hoppers. With hoppers you may be tempted to hit the E ticket rides over and over and miss some the charming parts of the parks. 3 days, no hoppers, I'm locking in my answer. LOL! ;)

Exactly! It's rather like going for a nice walk or run, but you're pace is so fast, that you speed right by everything that is glorious. Glorious, not necessarily in any huge way, but rather in all of the smaller elements. That to which is not necessarily either to be described here but rather observed and experienced in your immediate environment.

good points thank you!

We always get hoppers so I would recommend getting them.

The parks are just so close together that like the OP said when DCA closes you can hop over to DL for a couple extra hours of Disney fun

;) GTK thank you!

awesome, thank you!

Thank you, I am getting excited now

The advantage of hoppers during extra crowded days is that you can just hop to the other park when it's just too much. We tend to start at DL, leave when it's busy and return in the evening.

Will you be driving back right after a full day at DLR? If so, if you can do 3 days, I'd recommend it. You won't feel so rushed to do everything on your last day.

I never go for less than 5 days. Usually more. It doesn't sound like it possible for you, but I would go for 3 for sure. There are as many attractions at DL & DCA as all 4 parks at DW. So even with 3, you wont see/ride everything, but you will obviously get to do more in 3 days than 2. You will love DL! Just don't go expecting it to be the same as DW. It is very different, but very magical. Either way, Enjoy!!

Driving to Anaheim from NY?

You know you'll have to drive back, right?

That's what gets me , even from WA. The way BACK.

My vote is...fly and spend more time at Disneyland.
lol i knowwwwwwwwwwww trust me, lol honestly my husband wants to show the kids the grand canyon, vegas, the hoover dam, etc. he loves road trips, me on the other hand have had my fill.
