Time in Parks

How many days in each park should I plan for my DD(5) 1st trip to Disney. We are planning on going to seaworld for 1 day. I was just wondering how many days in MK,Epcot,MGM???

Just back from Beach Club!. DS 5 & 7
We spent a morning in each park(my best advice is to be there before the park opens and be ready to leave before lunch and go and relax by the pool)
that's about all my boys could handle in one day.
After we had been to all parks we went back and did their favorite rides again.
You'll love the pool at the Beach Club!!.

We went with our 2 year old and found that she could hang as much as we could with a stroller. Just don't be in a hurry and take in shows for a break. We found MK to be an all day visit and we went at least twice. We did MGM in about 6 hours and though we enjoyed it, we were ready to go (make sure you see the Little Mermaid show and The Beauty and the Beast show.) Epcot was more for us but our dd absolutely loved the character greetings and some of the out of the way rides in the countries like the boat ride in Mexico. We did that in about 5-6 hours. By the way, if they are still doing it, she got a big kick out of going to the Kids stops in each country and getting her diecut shape added to this mask she had colored at the first country we came to. It became a game trying to find the location of the next stop. She loved the Thomas the train table and setup inside the bookstore in England. You did not mention it but I also highly recommend Animal Kingdom. Our dd is an animal nut but she would have loved it either way. The Lion King show is awesome and is not to be missed and she loved the kids rides in the dinoland section. We spent 8 hours there but could have done it in 4-5 if she hadnt wanted to see Lion King again.

Epcot is quite boring fora 5 year old. The only things are the living seas and honey I shrunk the Audence. Yes they have kidcott stations howver your child can color at home.

I think that is a matter of opinion. There are a ton of character greetings if she likes that. She can see Snow White, Nemo, Alladin, Genie and Jasmine, Belle and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and several more characters and there are a lot of rides within each country that are cute for a five year old. My niece was 6 when we last went with them and she loved Epcot as much as we did. It was the only place that she had ever seen Ariel as a human and she loved that.

I think this depends on the child. My DD was 6, almost 7, at Epcot, but even as a 5 yr old she loved maps, countries, learning about different places. She loved Epcot, and instead of just plain "coloring" on the mask, she colored each country's flag on the mask, learning, coloring, and at the same time sitting and having a little break.
DD also loved Soarin, Spaceship earth, Test Track.........Acrobats in China, boats in Norway and Mexico.............and the Character tour bus, meeting Aurora and Belle in France.

However, some friends of ours are planning a possible trip for summer, and their DD, the same age as mine would NOT enjoy Epcot, just not the same personality, or interest level in other places. (like my DD wanted to show her on her globe where she had gone, after our trip to WDW and the girl just said, "I don't know much about that stuff(maps/globe)" and walked away.....)
Every kid is different, use your own judgement on what your own kids will like. We went to Epcot 3x while there (first time was only for 2 hrs).

I would allow for 2 full days at MK, and then make sure you buy hopper tickets because I think half a day at MGM is enough for many kids unless they are really into lots of shows. Epcot can be hit or miss, we usually like 1.5 days there and then 1 day for AK (noticed you didn't list it).

We usually do a a non Disney activity in the middle to break it up a bit. Here is my 2 cents...

Mk 1st unless you are arriving on a super busy day
Epcot or MGM if you are going to do it (some people try to do the few kid highlights in each since you can take a boat between them). It does make for a lot of walk since EPCOT is very spread out.
