All,

I am currently in what seems to be a very slow process of buying a resale at BWV through GMAC. Here is our timeline so far.

Offer presented: 4/29/2009
Offer accepted: 4/30/2009
Contract emailed to us: 5/6/2009
Contract emailed back: 5/7/2009
Next: ????

So we are 2 weeks from the time of offer and I still don't have confirmation if this has been submitted to Disney. We are planning a trip the first week in Dec so the sooner I can get on a waitlist the better!

So, can you guys give me some times you waiting from offer submit to submitted to ROFR? So far I am not impressed at all!

Thanks!

Here's a link to an informative thread for people who are in the same situation. On this current resale contract, our offer was made and accepted on 4/15, submitted for ROFR on 4/16, and passed ROFR on 5/5. This was from the Timeshare Store. Another BWV contract was submitted on 4/24 and passed 5/6. In general, Disney has 30 days to either exercise or waive ROFR.

Thanks. I understand the ROFR process and how long that takes. From your experience it appears TTS was much better at getting your contract done and submitted to Disney (1 day) vs. the two weeks I have been waiting. That is what I am most interested in at this point.

Hi Penguins .... I know exactly what you mean!
My offer was accepted 4/6
Contracts signed by both sides 4/8
Submitted to Disney for ROFR 4/10

In my case, it was submitted to ROFR 2 days AFTER both sides signed the contract.

The closing company deposited my down payment check on 4/14.

I originally thought that they wait until they receive the check but was glad to discover that is not the case!

Good luck Penguins!

That does seem like a long time to go to Disney. I has also used the TSS (buying and selling) and we had a verbal offer and the contracts the same night and it went to Disney the next day (both of us returned signed contracts within 24 hours).

Just keep on them and it is possible it has already gone. I have been reading that RORF seems to be quick right now (a few posted less than a week) so maybe you will hear very soon!!!

Good luck!!!

What you also have to keep in mind, is whether the sellers have had a chance to sign the contract yet. In our case, although the seller had accepted our offer, they were on spring break when the contracts were sent out to sign, so we had to wait a week, until they returned, before they could sign it and then have it sent to Disney for ROFR.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I am wondering if the sellers had returned the contract yet. I have put in a few calls / emails to GMAC without any answer. I know it sounds like I am being impatient, but this is such a slow process to begin with I don't want any delays which are not necessary. Plus getting any reservation for when I want to go will be a challenge so the sooner I can try and do that the better.

Penguins1,
We were very lucky both times we went through ROFR. The first time took 4 days and this last was only 6 days. I think it is dependant upon the seller and their speed of getting the paperwork signed and returned. The resell company has a lot to do with it too and their knowledge of how to submit in a timely manner. Good luck I know it seems like a long wait but it is well worth it.

Wow this is getting frustrating...

An email on Tuesday, no response.
A call on Wednesday, no repsonse.
Several calls today, no response.

It shouldn't be this hard to get a quick update on the status of this contract. I was worried going with GMAC but a great contract came up. I guess this is the price I pay.

Finally got in touch with GMAC today. The sellers still have not returned the contract but should be doing so today. I hope it gets off to Disney soon and we get lucky with a short ROFR process!!!
